Apples & oranges comparison, I'm not denying the existance of sunscreen-pigments, not at all.

But you see in my pics how the stem gets discolorated beginning from the node:

>> because at the node sits the meristem, where much growth happens.

This can be observed at other weedy plants as well, here caused by prolonged drought stress: (I let these wilt as I've read about that in yet another book it may cause it)

So when it's within my possibilities, I put the info's of my books to the test. Esp. with hemp.
