You should be able to reach out to your energy provider and they can give you an amount per kilowatt hour used And let you know if the rate has changed recently

I have a meter that I look at outside of my property and it tells me how much I have used, I believe the rate is about 20 pence per hour for 1kw

Sounds to me like your problem might actually be just the cost of the power coming from the generator

You need to figure out whats what concerning your usage and stop playing blind mans bluff and pin the tale on the donkey with this. Hell your luck since power cost have been going up in the UK could somebody be stealing power from you? Happens all the time here, especially when people live in close quarters and so many think nothing of stealing.
