Electric costs

Your power costs are going to go up even more. I posted that article that says 50%. You need to find a way to not have to use the heater. It sounds like your only option is to put the HID back in.

Are you in a multiple dwelling? I lived in an apartment that had some single room studios on the top floor. One day the power breaker blew so I went down into the basement to investigate. Sure enough the breaker was tripped and while I was down there some guy from the floor above came down as well. Apparently we were on the same circuit but I was the only one getting a bill. He had rented a studio with electric included. I called the power company but they told me to contact the building owner. I talked to the property management company and got nowhere. The actual owner was some investment company in another state. The building ended up getting sold and I moved but I had lived there for years paying for someone else's electricity. I never did get a dime in compensation.

So yes it's possible someone else is using your power but that's probably not it. Your power costs have likely just gone up substantially.
Nah it's just a normal house dude

Your heater is pulling over 3x the power of a 600watt HPS, and you wonder why you're not saving power? You can't pull a 15kg light out of your tent? It sounds like you're fucked.
Yeah it's too heavy to do it on my own, i'm going to have to get a smaller heater. Well it's not that it's too heavy, it's just really awkward to pick up

Yeah, that's what I mean dude, I can run a 600watt hps for about 30 or 40 dollars a week, maybe even less. I thought the idea of having led lights was to save power? But it's costing me like 3 times as much lol :bigjoint:
Is there a minimum speed on your extraction ?
As in it will only reduce by 50% or something.
I've seen variacs that would only reduce by 10,20,40% and it sounds to me like you'd be better running less extraction to keep your heat in .

Is your environment particularly cold?

just on the 1,000 watt setting
You are paying around 0.28p per KW hour for electricity.
1000 watts for heater plus 500 watts for the led light.
0.28p x 1.5 = 42p per hr x 24 hrs = £10.08p per day! Just for the tent.
Then add your tv and toaster, cooker, lighting fridge etc and it all adds up.
Dump the heater. You shouldn't really need it in an indoor setting with light on 24 hrs a day.

I should of never got all of this expensive gear and spent thousands of pounds. It worked fine with HPS now it is all just messed up, my seedlings are stunted and suffering from god knows what. And i cannot be arsed anymore. It's easier just to go to my local dealer and pick up half ounce of stardog

I am really stressed now guys, I put loads of money on electric and it's all gone and I'm struggling to even survive and I have barely enough to buy food and now my seedlings are developing problems. I will probably fix it by giving them some baby food "canna start" but it is very stressful

I don't know why my local grow shop would supply me with a 2kw radiator knowing that I will only need a 500w one. And I bet you if I could test the circuit and see how many watts are being pulled it will say 2,000 watts, because there's nothing else in my home that is running other than a TV

Yeah I have a rhino thermostatic fan connected to my carbon filter, so I can control it from 1% to 100%. I have it on about 35%. It's not really cold where I am. It's 20c inside, I'm literally only adding a few degrees of temperature just to keep them where they need to be at this stage.

Dam man i feel for you. All i can say is i just got some new lights and had a difficult time getting this run going. Those led are strong.Way behind but on track now. Also i truly hope you were joking about not being able to eat. Im not going to be high and mighty but that was a bad move if budgets that tight.

I can afford to eat, but just barely. I've got to find more money for some more electric and hope it doesn't keep eating the electric up otherwise I will be sitting in the dark and the seedlings will probably die. And more money for a smaller electric heater just to make sure it can't pull 2kw from the mains. and I can barely afford to eat. I wish I was joking man. the reason I am growing weed is so I can try and save money and stop spending my money on weed dealers. My last grow I did I managed to save some money up to buy the new equipment so it's not like I spent my last dollar lol :bigjoint:

would this work its a twenty spot. Id even donate it to a starving fellow grower
Yeah you're right dude and that is really nice of you I appreciate it man. But I've got to get that old 2kw heater out of there tomorrow and get a new one in there straight away. I will have to go to somewhere like a hardware store and pick one up for about 20 dollars because I can't keep this electric bill up. It's costing me about 20 dollars a day to run this 2kw heater and by the time you got that heater to me my electric bill would be through the roof dude. I've got to get it out of there straight away in the morning. But thank you man I do really appreciate it :)

Turn your heater off then switch your fan down to 15% .

You still got your hps ?

Yeah, but in a last ditch attempt I'm going to try and get a smaller 500 watt heater and see if that fixes the electric being drained dude. And if that don't fix it I'm going to get out my digital ballast and dust it all down and hook it up to my 600 watt HPS and dim it to 250 watts. And if that don't fix it someone must be robbing my electric :bigjoint:

Because you think that your other heater runs at maximum all the time ?
Im telling you it takes the amount of heat it takes to heat your space regardless of wattage
If I were you I would stop throwing money at a method that won’t work
You can’t just put a smaller heater in or everyone’s homes would have the tiniest heating systems
But you can insulate or modify the area
You seem convinced yet you say you are broke but you are going to buy another heater
I’m so confused

But the temperature rise in the tent is directly related to the amount of air extracted.
Slower the fan is, warmer the tent.

Your using a heater to heat a space which is going straight out of your fan.

If that doesn't work then just plug your hps in and it won't matter if its only 20degree C and you still won't need the heater.

No point running a 500w heater and dimming to 250w on light if you can run 600w of hps and no heater.
