You grow Cannabis and you're afraid of nutrient smell? That doesn't make much sense. Have you ever grown a plant from start to finish? You know they reek from anything from pine, pepper, incense, rotten fruit, cat piss or candy?

You're not planning on running a carbon filter? That should remove the small amount of smell from any organic amendment if that's your thing. Other than that I would advice you to buy a complete mineral salt based fertilizer, traditionally A + B formula. Not much smell, but nutrient salts do smell like fertilizer. Can't get away from that.

Tomorite is just a Liquid Seaweed feed, NPK 4-3-8. It is good stuff, I use it all the time. You should be able to get a comparable product.

I’ve never noticed a nutrient smell that was overpowering in any way, but you could also just top dress with dry amendments

On recommendation from my local shop, here’s what I’m doing this time that’s working great, and very easy. Using fox farm happy frog soil mixed with perlite, and happy frog fruit and flower 4-9-3 per the instructions, then once a month top dress with more fruit and flower per the instructions. I also top dressed with earth worm castings about a week ago, and that’s it for nutrients. Easy. All organic. Here’s my plant today at day 30 of 12/12. No more liquid nutrients for me.

I haven't used very many liquid nutes but what I have used never had such an unpleasant odor that you would notice any bad smell when using it indoors.

The only liquid nute that I've noticed really stinking would be the Alaska Fish 5-1-1. But that stuff is literally made from fish.

I can't thank of a nutrient I've used that smells of anything good or bad canna, bio nova, ionic and ghs doesn't smell iirc, I've never tried to smell the bottle but it's not something I'd miss when mixing.

The only smell I can think of waa superthrive it reminded me of the brewery with a yeasty/malty smell but it wasn't a bad smell.

Hey, I have been in the process of leaning, your posts have been helpful. I am using the HF soil. My seelings are at 14 days right now. I just purchased some of this fruit and flower fertilizer you mentioned. How soon would you recommend using the fertilizer? I am aware the soil provides nutrients, but unsure when they run out or how soon I should add fertilizer.

If your going to transplant it, I would read the instructions on how much to mix in your soil for the size pot your using, then once a month from there, and if your already in your final pot, I would go ahead and top dress now with the amount recommended amount per the instructions, and then once a month.

I topped it once, and when they grew back, I tied them down. I don’t duct or anything like that. I just leave the door open with a baby gate in front of it to keep cats out. It stays cool enough. I don’t have a lot of smell at this point, and if it does start smelling it doesn’t matter. I live in the country, and it’s just me and my wife. I use a cmh 315 light, and used happy frog soil mixed with perlite, and happy frog fruit and flower, and top dress with fruit and flower once a month. I did top dress with some worm castings a few days ago as well, and that’s it.
