Nute Burn, Light Burn, pH? Overwatering? Ugh, probably all of it.

So, now my babies have been alive for 16 days.

A few days ago I fed them Evian Mineral Water, the next day they got burnt yellow/brown and white tips.

I panicked. I knew it was a mistake.

I also could see I was overwatering them.

In addition to that, a few days later I decided to increase the lights to 40% power, which proved to make things worse.

I used to grow watermelons outdoors.

Never an indoor grow like this.


So here we are now.

Turned the lights back down to 30% , flushing the plants out with just plain water, pHed properly this time.

Letting them now dry out.

Not sure what else to do but just let them sit and get dry.

I will accept any helpful advice.

New growth isn’t getting worse. The old damage will remain. It’s just not going to look so pretty in the beginning. The damage may even cause it to grow slowly so plz be patient with it. Give it a couple weeks. Just water when it’s needed.

Well honestly the growth is rather stunted right now.

The stems look good though.
Still very strong and sturdy.
It's lost half of the green color.

Yeah I figured it was going to be a long time to recover.

The good news is I am going to leave the plant in vegetation for a very long time and probably won't switch to 12/12 until the summer.

That's not going to be possible so I'm just going to keep my light levels back to where they were, going back in time.. it was definitely way too early to increase the intensity.

Nothing being added can make anything better. Keep it simple. This is supposed to be the most boring stage of the grow.. yet it’s the most painful.

But definitely painful now.

Ima just keep it simple for you. You overwatered. Crashed your ph. Causing lock out. Starving your plants. Change your soil the best you can. And stop overwatering. And take the advise from people on here that have multiple harvest a year with proof in the pudding.

Small baby leaves starting to pop out today.

My soil is finally drying out.

next time start in small nursery pots with a little compost mixed in and just plain water till the leaves reach the edges of the pots with 2-3 nodes then transplant into bigger pots. that way you’ll not overwater, probably.

also stop flushing shit what are you flushing? you are flushing all the amendments and nutrients you added to that soil at the beginning and nothing else and creating a soggy medium, drowning what tiny root system those seedlings have. just back off with corrections.
