The extension service in your state is agriculture. There’s help available free to the farmers for everything from soil testing and water testing to fertilizer formulas. There’s too much money involved for things like stress or drought or light deprivation to not have those things looked into. Out of curiosity if nothing else.Farmers around here have ridiculous rigs that use GPS and radar to make sure they plant seeds to the correct depth in relation to the soil depth, etc., so the idea that they might simple salt of the earth schlubs is long long gone. If there's science and technology, they're using it for yields and quality and have left any forms of superstitions well behind.
pueblo chile > hatch chile IMO. i even have the CO pueblo chile license plates. lol. nothing like a good pork green chile on a chilly dayThe extension service in your state is agriculture. No backyard chile pollen chucker came up with the successful strains grown today. Colorado State University and most especially New Mexico State University have done it.
New Mexico surprised and curious about the Pueblo green chile. Good heat and thick enough to stuff for rellenos without splitting. From research including soil science.
Always looking for great green Chile recipepueblo chile > hatch chile IMO. i even have the CO pueblo chile license plates. lol. nothing like a good pork green chile on a chilly day
I'll have to try Pueblos some day. I've always used poblanos...even grew 'em last year, but decided that for the effort I got about 4 or 5 peppers per plant and the farmstand down the road has baskets of 5 or 6 for 3 bucks...so from now on, I'll just buy and concentrate on the smaller hot hots, etc.The extension service in your state is agriculture. mine's simple: just pulled pork, green chiles, tomato paste and whole canned tomatoes. and simmer for a few hours. (Always looking for great green Chile recipe
how long do you flush b4 harvest?I put my chilli peppers in 48hrs of darkness before harvest. Makes them twice as hot.
I always ad-lib it. Pork shoulder I've chunked down, roasted tomatillos, lots of roasted poblanos & jalapenos, then the usual onion/garlic/spices and then balanced with a little agave nectar. I slow cook the pork in the chili until it's braised down and super fall apart tender.Always looking for great green Chile recipe
i think they are a pain in the ass to roast and peel them myself. come harvest season around here, there are tons of guys that roast them, peel them and sell them bagged.I'll have to try Pueblos some day. Tomato paste is a twist I didn’t see comingmine's simple: just pulled pork, green chiles, tomato paste and whole canned tomatoes. and simmer for a few hours. (
Not just UVB. UVA has been shown to increase thc about the same as UVB.This may open up a can of worms but there are some stressors that have been peer reviewed and abstracts written about to “ bump “ the levels ….
One being Drought stress ( which ironically ) I am doing by throwing pre-trimmed plants into darkness. The inflorescence ( complete flower ) dry weight and secondary metabolite content in cannabis is largely controlled through breeding and phenotype selection ; however horticultural management techniques such as fertilization, lighting , substrate used , air / environment all play into results . Drought-stressed plants had increased concentrations of major cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCA) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) by 12% and 13%, respectively, compared with the control Plants done with study.
For example : Areas around the world that experience drought situations / more intense solar radiation which stimulates secondary metabolites within . Results are more aromatic / oil production - remember when I said my girls get more fragrant this way ? I am in a way introducing a good stressor to them as they are drying in pot.
UVB increases THC production also. I run a Sunblaster with DUAL AGROMAX PURE UV bulbs during some grows .
Wonder what results could happen if UV is only available light harvest plants get while in dark tent. Something like 10-15 minutes per 3 hour block ( x4 ) of typical 12/12 cycle.
I “ may “ experiment on a harvest by not only keeping harvest ready plants in dark / drought stressing til end but add my Agromax Pure UV lamp to cycle on and off on them to bump trich expression. Could work who knows …. Tell me what you think.
No options on that here...A few farms grow 'em, but upper NY state isn't the place for much tex/mex support. I'm happy to roast and peel them myself though.i think they are a pain in the ass to roast and peel them myself. come harvest season around here, there are tons of guys that roast them, peel them and sell them bagged.
What ec do you feed that atI always ad-lib it. just don't mistake the tube for toothpaste in the middle of the night. you'll think your gums are hemorraghing lolTomato paste is a twist I didn’t see coming
Although I put it in a lot of sauces
I love those tubes so you can use a spoonful
One of these days when I'm feeling spendy I'm going to grab a outboard UV light to go with the QBs in my tent and see what they do.Not just UVB. UVA has been shown to increase thc about the same as UVB.
I've never tested the feed for my vegetable garden. Last summer I used a Schultz 20/20/20 on most everything in that garden, but I know peppers like heavy feed and lower nitrogen. I might use maxibloom this year for the peppers. What ec do you feed that at
how many watts uva per sq ft? any idea? i don't think i was using enough last run.Not just UVB. UVA has been shown to increase thc about the same as UVB.
