Garage Grow Box

New to growing. Built an insulated grow box in my garage 28”x60”x72”. Am wondering which light would be better for this space, viparspectra XS2000 or P4000.
Also, since garage temps get cold in winter and hot in summer I will be trying to regulate with heater and A/C (outside of box just in garage). Will heat from light make this only a summer issue?I will be using exhaust van venting to attic (if that matters). Should I just make a passive intake on lower side of box for fresh air?

thanks all!

A passive intake should be fine, you might want a light baffle to stop light getting in and out.

At a bit over 2ft x 5ft you'd be better with a couple of small lights to get even coverage.
Best option would be a DIY strip build but obviously not everyone wants to go that route.

Maintaining heat will be your issue when it's cold and a ceramic tube heater would be a good addition, as would heat mats . This is in addition to your ac in your garage.

Makes sure you seal all surfaces and paint white, though matt is a highly reflective surface I would recommend something mid sheen for the cleanability.

I would also have the cabinet on a sheet of rigid insulation to insulate it from the cold floor.

Plus a word of caution , venting into attics can cause mold issues so make sure the attic has plenty of ventilation.

Do your research light wise in the LED section.

Just had a quick look at the xs2000.

Says it covers a 2x4 ft area, think thats a stretch.

Work to 30w per square foot with quality led like Samsung 301b or equal. Some like more than that too.

If your height restricted a couple of smaller lights helps as you can have them closer to plants and get more even light distribution.
Strips are even better for that.
As around for recommendations in the LED section to see if there's something that would suit your space best

I’d get an sp3000 to cover 4ft of your area & use the other sqft to put an oil radiator + oscillating fan with a stand that would be able to rise with the canopy & maybe a humidifier/dehu if needed.
got insulation? Panda film? Mylar?
Passive intake will work, though powered intake may serve better. Extraction powered of course. Intake port down below, extraction port up top on the opposite side of the box. Inside or outside the box? If it was mine, I’d mount it on the side facing the hole to the attic.
I would run a dehumidifier in the attic since you are going to be exhausting in there. Last thing you need is to develop mold.

That’s all I can come up right now. Still rolling up. :bigjoint:

Thanks both for the responses. Yes my exhaust will be going through attic out of roof vent! Is running a heater inside such a small space dangerous? I plan to do mini split in garage eventually to help control temp. Have to put a power/breaker in for it though. I will check into the heat mats!

Exhausting out is good news. I get paranoid with moisture.
A small oil filled radiator will do fine connected to a thermostat to keep temps in check unless it comes with one built in.
