What has happened to weed ?

i guess it depends on where you get your genetics.
i've been dealing with the vault, PEV, and canuck for a few years, and haven't had any reason to complain.
there is a blending going on, and those who want a "pure" sativa or indica may have a hard time finding those unadulterated genetics, but i haven't found anything to complain about as far as quality goes, one bowl of the weed i grow is usually enough for two people to get pretty fucked up..

You need to buy some of mine. 8) j/k, I give them away.
You have to keep digging. I have grown several plants that weren't anything. I have even bred stuff that wasn't anything to brag about and found something better. The best stuff Ive found lately has been from me crossing stuff and then back crossing it to a parent. Then I line work it.
Good luck

I don’t think it’s the weed.
People just smoke too much.
THC tolerance will do that.
Put down the reefer for a couple of months and see if you get high.
There’s a lot to this! A neighbor came over to discuss helping him get a grow going. Just dried a new seed crop. Heavily seeded White Widow. Loaded up a cone full of it. This guy had to pass halfway through and he’s no lightweight with beer and bud.

That’s not my experience I can chain smoke spliffs all day and still tell the difference between mid grade and high grade like it’s night and day.
If I get a bag of mid-grade (all that’s available around here) I will literally throw it out after sampling a spliff of it because it’s not even worth smoking because it doesn’t do anything for me.
However I know quite a few MJ enthusiasts and I’ll start ranting to them about the exact same topic as OP and they just look at me sideways like I’m talking chinese. Although half the time they’re trying to sell me the mid grade so maybe that’s why haha

Disgusting talk
maybe, but true none the less. i have friends who do dabs, and after a few weeks they start to bitch that its taking more and more to get high, and then that they're having trouble getting high at all....i do not do dabs on a regular basis, maybe once or twice a month, and i don't get high in the morning unless i'm off, and then only if i have nothing to do, and i do not find myself having trouble getting high, after a 44 year career as a semi professional cannabis consumer

It seems to me like all the weed genetics have been filtered out Lost and weed is getting weaker And there's plenty of whack seeds floating about ?
You are entirely correct.
The only people who will argue with you are the ones who weren't around to smoke herb in the 'old days'.
Here's a 'secret' for you.
Commercial, before mass market breeding that creates poly-poly-poly hybrids with limited genetics, was almost always landrace sativa buds.
When you feel a tolerance, switch to a 100% sativa for a while.
I have 100% sativas that don't look marketable, but will get you higher than anything on the market today, and it is mid 20s THC.
The entourage effect of a full spread of terpenes does something to make the buzz much 'fuller' and more satisfying. Cleaner too, as there is never a 'hangover' effect from getting zooted.
I predict many more breeding programs coming up with landraces, to reintroduce something purposely bred out of cannabis when it was a bad idea to grow stinky herb.
After all, that's where true skunk went: it was too dangerous to grow it out.

land·race
a local cultivar or animal breed that has been improved by traditional agricultural methods

there are no more landraces as far as weed is concerned, douchebags like the strain hunters fucked all of that up, finding the homes of landrace cultivars and polluting them with outside genetics....

a landrace is a localized strain that breeds true.
The Strain Hunters didn't ruin all the Cannabis in the world.
Arguing ineffectually I would say, from lack of information.

Breeding programs coming up with landraces? I don't think so. Landraces evolve over decades and hundreds or thousands of years. The pollen chuckers today crossing this with that are not breeders. They might as well be growing a seed crop like soybeans for yield.

You can still get landraces but it's not from some breeding program.
