How to avoid the smell while the tent is open? (watering, trimming etc). Classic and silly ideas...

If you touch your plants the smell will Transfer to you. Can't really be avoided.

But you can minimise, have your circulation fans on a separate switch and turn them off before opening your tent.
Have the extraction turned up when you open tent.
I wear a onesie when I handle plants, it goes in a black sack when I've done.
Wear gloves.

Think about how your gona trim them too because if your worried now just handling them then your gona shit yourself when you crop them.

I'm planning an a tent within a tent when I move house as I don't want the slightest smell going through to my new neighbours.

Yeah but doesn't he want the smell NOT coming out of the tent, let alone being blown straight out the window for all the neighbors to smell?
Thats something I will have to experiment with, Not living in a too densely populated area, maybe smell going out of window isnt an issue, time will tell
If it is,ozone generator and/or ONA or an oversized tent, where I lock myself in are more suitable for me :D

Yeah, tent within tent or just an oversized tent, where 50% is not used and is meant for me moving in thereis obviously bulletproof - with the right dresscode and all that.

I already shat myslf when half of my fan leaves died due to lack of nitrogen,

If they hadnt died though, I wouldnt have engaged in so many discussions last couple of days and learned more than everything I have read before combined - so, a silver lining :)

About drying "we have an army. Well, I have a fridge" - paraphraisng Tony Stark :D
By that I mean I will use the method of drying in frost free fridge for 2-3 weeks.
With bluetooth heat.humidity sensors in there as well, just for peace of mind

Also, a small barn for trimming. I wonder/doubt if ONA and/or ozone generator can handle trimming several OZs in a room lol

I'm wary of one as its supposed to attach to the smelly molecules, which is not good when your plants are full if them.
My stance us it's OK outside of grow spaces where it can't get near your actual plants.

A drying fridge.. that's a new one to me, interesting.

I'm in the same situation, 6 weeks into flower and I have to take my plants out to water them until run off in coco and dump the water away into the sink. Any ideas is appreciated. They are really stinky

dude, this thread is full of ideas.
From ridiculous ones by me (a 1st time grower) to much more efficient ones from experienced growers :)

wary of what you are? :) You mean fridge? I have an empty fridge meant just for dryng.
Here is a superthread with all the info youll ver need about this method - https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/drziggys-low-and-slow-drying-maximizing-your-harvest.366783/page-115

From reading everything - end result may actually be not only smother taste but higher quality

EDIT: Oh, you probbaly meant being vary of ONA.
From what I have read ONA can harm your plants if being close to them regularly, like in a tent
Being in the same room for 20 minutes while watering takes place - who knows, maybe there is no damage at all

The only idea that I have found is using an automated watering system, but you need airpot containers to do that And I'm 6 weeks into flower and I don't have airpots so I can't do it :(

Sounds like your exhaust is undersized. I trim and dry under mine.
Watering with the tent open has never been a problem for me

What is your budget?
ONA gel may not keep all the smell away or it may - depends on strain etc
DIY cheap version - http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?/topic/383707-diy-ona-gel-save-yourself-hundreds/

Thats the cheapest option probably.

Reading again through all the comments, I honestly believe we have a database of at least 80% of methods on how to reduce smell.
Choose one that suits you best (budget, avilability etc)

And dont be afraid to ask question about your chosen method.

I never believed this thread will end up with so many people coming in here and giving me advices - this community rocks :)

I have read great things about ozone generators.
Unhealthy in large doses, but for watering which takes a few minuts - probably safe, but I am not informed enough about that.
They cost somwhere between 100-300 for a decent one.

If you have the budget for it, I would rent one for a day, see if it helps. If it does, buy one. Expensive compared to other methods, but if it works and you have spare money, why not.

P.S. Ona doesnt help at all? Or you see at least a little difference with and without it?
