Drying in an abandoned shed

hi folks, i am currently thinking about drying my weed in an old abandoned shed in the woods. my plants should be ready for harvest late september / early october. i was wondering if this was even possible and, if so, what are the materials needed? i know i would need a dehumidifier definitely (the humidity would be around 80% if not), and some air flow. im not sure what else. any suggestions would be really appreciated. thanks!

Depending on the temperatures you’re going to have deal with will dictate what is necessary but usually an ac, heater, and dehumidifier paired with some type of environmental controller(s) will suffice. I have a shed that I grow and dry in. I highly recommend insulating it well. Your dry will fare far better if you can keep steady optimal environmental conditions. Good insulation will negate drastic fluctuations in your environmental conditions resulting in a slow steady dry (assuming your temperature control devices and dehumidifier are set up properly).

I'm assuming it's just a shed that's not being used at a property you have access to that just happens to be in the woods. Most abandoned shed in the woods don't have electricity.

I would worry of mold / excessive moisture conditions ( underfloor )

I'd think the chances of someone finding and taking your weed would be high. Why not do it in a closet at home or somewhere safe?

Exactly. I read weed, abandoned, shed in woods. Someone is going to get to it before you do. Not a good idea.

after looking at the comments, i can tell that this is not possible. i did a bit of searching, and came across a thread about a "paper bag method" where i put buds in a paper bag to dry. because the paper bag is closed, no mold spores can enter and the smell is drastically reduced. thoughts? (p.s. thank you for taking the time to respond, it really means a lot )

Dont over do it by packing the buds in..Put the buds in lightly ( breathing room)

You need airflow to dry wet weed .No airflow in a bag.GL

You can dry in paper bags thats how a couple of the old timers do it around here.. the paper will wick out moisture.. i wouldnt recomend closing the bag up at first.

Yup, have done this for years. I trim branches and put them in a grocery bag and fold the top, and open the bag and rearrange the branches every day, as said above don't wanna pack them in too tight. Before I had tried hanging branches in a closed closet, but within a day or 2 they were too crispy to really cure. Bags slow the drying down and help the curing process before I jar. Paper bags are porous
