Lockdowns didn't work.

I still wish my profile would be removed along with all my posts because I spent so many years agreeing with people who turned out to be militant lockdown advocates. But I'm still going to rub it in. Go ahead and tout your dead granny for sympathy, doesn't make you any less wrong, doesn't make it someone else's fault just for having liberty.

China is still sticking with its economically self destructive but clearly ineffective and deeply unpopular lockdown strategy, long after the rest of the world has come to realize that we're going to have to live with the virus those commies unleashed on us. Meanwhile Taiwan is eating out at restaurants and hosting visitors.
welcome back where you been?....we missed you

If lockdowns and masks were so important, why did so many pompous politicians, ignore their own mandates? Sort of like those douchebags that whine about global warming and then fly in to some conference on it in a jet.

The lady behind Trump (a liberal hero)...isn't that Debbie Birx? She's wearing one of those department store masks that says it doesn't work right on the box.

Fear porn. So gullible, so obedient. Good slaves!

They simply never asked for consent. Many of us were not scared and then they mongered fear and made the very fear a political position. It was always an option for those who wanted to cower indoors to do so. My criticism is for the militant lockdown activists who wanted to make sure that the measures were backed by law enforcement.
This is the real problem, which the gullible and obedient seem to have no issue with.

It's obvious that many people wrongfully default to the idea that some people can violate consent and others must obey. That is literally a slave mentality. Ironically, many of the lockdown enthusiasts are the first ones to whine about guns, yet they never see the gun in their own hand.

We already have a thread proving lockdowns worked.
They worked extremely well. Shame other countries didn't do as well a job as others- hard for America with trump at the wheel then, but o well. Move on and all that.

posted by me on the the thread that already proves lockdowns work- the one you're to scared to post in:

"I find it interesting to note the speed of the spread.

Population of Tasmania - about 550,000.

December 14 2021 - 0 Covid cases, borders have been open to WA/SA/NT/QLD and with significant restrictions to VIC/NSW for about a year.

December 15 2021 - Borders opened to all mainland states with some restrictions requiring testing prior to travel i.e. can't travel if positive etc.

January 4 2022 - 2244 active Covid cases.

So in about 3 weeks, we go from 0 in 550,00 to 1 in every 245 people having an active Covid case.

Also significant is the positive rate in the testing. Last 24 hours 702 cases from 2088 tests giving a strike rate of 34% which suggests there is a massive under testing occurring.

FWIW - 91.9% double vaxxed (aged 12 and over)"

Just to add to that Covid was a very easy thing to stop the spread of in the early days. That's why we saw countries and states get rid of it time and time again. The problem was that the whole world wasn't on the same page. Australia for eg was Covid free three (maybe 4??) times.

The countries and states that were able to keep a lid on it have the lower Covid deaths even today.
The whole point of lockdowns was to protect the hospital system and to give time for the scientists to do their thing. Vaccination % are very high in most 1st world countries but hospitals are still struggling with staff shortages.

We had 13 deaths in the first few weeks of the pandemic in my state. None after we had a short lockdown and got rid of the virus and the last 8 months of being open again our death toll is 177 from 245,000 cases.

Lockdowns worked.
