Do I need my growlight on

I've just planted some germinated seeds in soil. Do I need my growlight on above them straight away? Thanks

TBH I just do mine on a sunny windowsill.

I leave my light on. Helps the plant know which way is up.


But seriously I turn one light down and leave it on to avoid stretch when they do poke through. Also it warms my room a little which doesn't hurt either.
