Maybe he will be smarter in his 20s.

Churchill was a big Mussolinni fan though. Wrote him mash notes almost as embarrassing as Trump's missives between himself and Kim Jong Un. Mussolinni kept them on his person after being deposed in the hopes they could be used as an advantage with the Allies.

You know, it seems kind of funny that Donald kept his love notes. I wonder what he had in mind.
He made the trains run on time, even Canadian PM Mackenzie King said, "I'm no Mussolini" over his popular settlement with the Vatican state in the 1930s. If you recall, Vlad was not that unpopular until recently with republicans and some still support Putin. Italian fascism never ran as deep, or ruled as viciously and completely as in Germany, there were still other civil institutions and the monarchy. Mussolini was deposed, Hitler had to be killed, along with hundreds of thousands of his brainwashed.

And yet the people did kill Mussolinni while Hitler killed himself.

A lesson for Republicans after this all goes very bad for them.

If Hitler never busted him out and he grabbed at power again, he might have even survived the aftermath of the war.

I dunno if it will go bad for the GOP this election cycle or not, some say the democrats could be down by 20 seats in the house and they could lose the senate too. I have the luxury of focusing elsewhere until America learns better, at least for a while. You don't have that luxury though, and if it gets worse before it gets better, I might not have the luxury for long either. It's not that I'll give up on America, it's just that it needs time and bitter experiences to drive home the point. The domestic terrorism will get worse with the protection of the GOP and their refusal to do anything about it while attacking federal law enforcement and interfering with their investigations.

We will see, perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised if the democrats hold the house and senate, but that doesn't mean moving forward much, just holding ground. The republicans will do everything they can to cause chaos in the country and make it as ungovernable as possible, win or lose. They have no plan, except to cut social services like Medicare and social security, things most of their voters depend on. Maybe the culture wars won't seem as important when the government checks stop coming in with a government shutdown, then they can blame Biden, the democrats and socialism. In any war sacrifices have to be made and they will throw themselves under the tanks and generally fuck themselves for a "greater cause". Even if it's all kinda fuzzy, like Trump they go with their gut, it's the "feeling" that counts, not logic, their baser instincts and tribal social propensities drive their behavior. Concepts like constitutional government and civil society are clearly beyond their grasp and too abstract for them to conceptualize.

Yer pretty fuzzyheaded about history, you should try reading some, or even watching a good YouTube video or two. The communists and Nazis were enemies and had deadly street fights in pre–Nazi Germany. Hitler never invented the Jerry can and it had little to do with the Blitzkrieg armor attack on France, the Blitz was the nickname for the bombing of Britian by the Germans.
The puritans and protestants were famously at war too, yet both Christians. Moot point.

You should read more. The jerry can was the coveted prize of the allies. We were using thin round tin cans and losing up to half our fuel en route. The Germans and their superior jerry can got fuel into vehicles fast and reliably. They stacked and slotted with ease and could even float full of fuel.

Without that can the blitz would not have been near as dramatic or arguably wouldn't have been attempted. The can is what enabled it.

Money is portable power and paper money is just one of its manifestations. The economy like medicine is for professionals and there are enough of them with different opinions and the freedom to express them for my liking, though the medical professionals are in more agreement than economic ones. Almost every country on earth uses a mixture of socialism and capitalism, at least the ones worth living in. Libertarianism doesn't even work as well as communism FFS, at least that worked half assed for a time in some places, libertarianism is simply a nonstarter and only fools believe such things. It's like the idea of Utopia, in Greek the word means nowhere.
Money is a tool of trade. It represents effort and success in theory, which of course is negated if some are simply allowed to print it with no effort and no record of success.

Paper is currency with nothing backing it but faith. Which is Religion. Even worse if it's digital because now you believe in the imaginary power that runs your world and dictates its values.

This was you have eliminated your actual vote on society, a polluting company you won't support is bailed out, a bank with racist lending practices does go belly up but gets bailed out, and now you get to pay for your morality being subverted with an inflation tax. It's a win win for the politicians, big business and the philosophers but a big lose for you.

These "winners" aren't accountable as you and I are when they fail. If you're an architect and your building collapses you are liable. These politicians and philosophers, when their creations (policies) fail there is no accountability.

Money has value in and of itself, intrinsic; which can also be numismatic even if made of worthless zinc polished up real nice. Like a nice beautiful shiny turd.

I'm familiar with the history of the jerry can, there are even several YouTube videos on it. It is not listed as one of the war wining inventions and was quickly copied by the allies in North Africa where the Brits captured lots of them before the Americans even entered the war. The Germans filled up at French gas stations during the blitzkrieg of France too.

Money is all about faith and so is government, lose faith in money and it becomes worthless, even if it's gold bullion. It's all only worth anything if the society that uses it has faith in the government that manages things. Look at Russia if you wanna see a crisis of faith and trust and where it gets ya. Banks give you loans based on faith and trust, not to mention your credit rating and current employment statues. Without faith and trust human society would collapse, that why Trump's crimes against faith in government and trust in the truth were so egregious. He led fools down to the bottom pretty quick and exposed them for the pathetic things they are.

There was plenty of wining about it.

Element Au that was created in the supernova of stars that is scarce on earth cannot become worthless. Sorry.

Paper markets can manipulate the price of the currency that buys the commodity more than anything related to new discoveries and mining.

If you have a gold portfolio and no physical gold that's not a smart move.
