Fetterman or Oz. Who will win the senate seat?

Straw man post.

That said, I don't "discount the value of character and honor in elected officials". I never even said that I supported Oz. I only said that he's not a dummy, as you implied.

Perhaps his Turkish/ Muslim heritage doesn't bother you, but it's been set aside as an issue by others in this thread, which I find Xenophobic at best.

Most politicians are charlatans these days unfortunately. I'm not defending Oz, but graduating magna cum laude from Harvard is more than your standard credentials. The only reason I mentioned it is because others seem to think that Fetterman is smarter because he also graduated from Harvard.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude, not from Harvard though. I think it's crazy it's even close. I wouldn't vote for that guy no matter how much I was for the Democratic Party.

Right? We're discussing senate candidates, but for some reason the Dems on this forum like to bring up Trump at any possible unrelated moment.
The reason is close to hand: Republicans are continuing that man’s chaotically illiberal policies. Voting rights, reproductive rights, gender dignity and government aid to nonwhite nonmales all show almost EVERY GOP candidate to be against the four.

Thus, invoking that man, his disastrous policies, and the en-bloc loyalty to them that remains a key component of the GOP platform remains a useful shorthand for overthrow politics.

But you're picking and choosing. You use Trump's affiliation to demonize anything that you oppose, however when it came to Operation Warp Speed, you rolled up your sleeves.

Operation Warp Speed was and is a cynical slogan designed to conceal active obstruction of the Covid public health campaign. (Witness the continuing smears of Dr. Fauci.) You should not give that murderous lie any oxygen.

If I were to assign it a different name, the end result would be the same. Also that's a straw man response.

I do not ascribe the effectiveness or the availability to the cynically misnamed program of the previous administration.

I rolled up my sleeve for Pfizer/Moderna and for the Biden administration that rushed availability for free.

Do you propose that if That Man had a second term, would the vax have been as available (for free) as soon?
I do not.

Your frequent misuse of the term reveals that you do not know what a straw man is. I’m here to help.

Bro, the first sentence in your link is exactly what you did. I'm starting to believe that you lack self-awareness.

"A straw man (sometimes written as strawman) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one"

I changed my response. I abandoned the straw man thing on a reread. I now see that your calumny was a different one.

However, my core argument that OWS was not a driver but the opposite still holds.

I have no idea what he would have done, but I know that he likes "wins", and that could have been an easy win. I mean, he's still proud of Operation Warp Speed, regardless of your assigned negative connotations surrounding the wording. I tend to disagree that it was cynically misnamed, I think that Trump probably just thought it was cool. The guy's a dummy. Back to the point at hand, I'm tired of seeing people debate issues based simply on affiliations. It's weak sauce. I never voted for Trump in any election, and frankly I'm tired of hearing him spoke about. You are all just giving the guy free publicity. The GOP sees you seething and foaming at the mouth any time he's mentioned; do you not think that they feed off of that, and you only serve to embolden their gang mentality? I fear that you are having a reverse effect from what you'd hope to employ.

He likes “wins” but ones that do not require work. He was the champ of branding and promotion. As soon as the job required any performance at all, he declared bankruptcy and divided the spoils, every time. The modus operandi didn’t quite transfer to the Big One: US government revenue and assets. Otherwise he’d be a trillionaire resting on the gnawed bones of tge national retirement fund. His myrmidons are still talking about dismantling SSI. That used to be a political third rail, but not any longer, alas.

As for being proud of OWS, a better indicator that it was a con you cannot ask for. That man was proudest of ill-gotten gains. They fed certain peculiar features of his monstrous ego.

If you watch the debate, you should have noticed that Oz is completely four states making their own decisions about abortion laws. Which is where it should be the federal government has grown too big as it is. The state should and many are taking back their Authority via citizens consent.
