This beautiful little ragdoll cat is now my companion creature. His name is Barista and he is a little less than a year old. He's getting neutered tomorrow, so I have to wait however long before I can bring him home.

I made the mistake of showing the picture to my wife and now she really wants one. We have barn cats outdoors that are really friendly but indoor cats have never been my thing due to litterbox issues in previous living situations. This is going to be a tough argument now lol. Definitely one of the cutest kittens I've seen and a friend for life.

I originally inquired about about a different kitten and the lady told me about him. I guess she was planning on breeding him, but he got out-alpha'd by the other males. He was cuter than the kitten-kitten, and I figured a little older cat would be better to introduce to my dog. My dog is really sweet, but I could see him pulling a Lenny from Mice and Men.

They'll work it out, pup will get a fun new playmate. I used to raise wolf hybrids and they don't do well with cats. Too strong of a prey drive to trust around small tasty mammals.

I brought up the idea in a different thread, but this is what I'm going to try. Instead of slabs, I'm going to start using the little loose rockwool fill cubes. Then I'm going to take one of the leach trays and flip it upside down to use as a lid for the other tray. I will cut three holes for the plants, and slits down the sides so I can take it on and off. Then I'm going to attach mister fittings to the roof of the box, which will be powered by my Growtek setup. Everything inside will get sprayed, and I can bury the 4" rockwool cubes in the fill instead of sitting them on top of the slabs. The loose rockwool will allow much more air to the roots.

It seems like it will have a lot of high humidity air with room for the roots to do their thing, and almost impossible to overwater.

I also might cutout a little square in the front and tape some panda film over it, so that I can access the inside to check for runoff and such.

I hooked up an old mister head to the Growtek, and it seems like this will work well. I'm going to borrow an auger drill bit from my dad and construct the "lid" tomorrow. The new mister heads are supposed to be delivered Monday. This might be the perfect setup. I'm excited to try it out.

I used to use the loose 1cm cubes and found I could do a constant drip and recirculate and it worked kind of like dwc, some brands are more or less repellent than others so I know it’s not possible with all of them.
