Two wrongs don't make a right. The Feds pushed Hawaii into statehood in a frenzy at the time as our leaders watched Colonialsm collapse after WW2. We even betrayed our stalwart WW2 ally Ho Chi Minh and backed French Colonialism in Vietnam, which was the catalyst behind Hawaiian "statehood." Hawaii is a colony, by definition. The USA is actually copying Japanese Imperialism with Hawaii by making it a part of "the United States" rather than the European model of keeping it a separate impoverished "colony" designed for resource extraction. Colonialism is alive and well in countries too small in population to prevent their own ethnic and cultural genocide. This is why so many Pacific Islands remain French and American colonies today, as well as the low population Himalayan Kingdoms like Sikkim, taken by India in 79, and Tibet-which, like Hawaii, was taken in the last mad dash of Colonialism by the winners of WW2 in the 50s. The USA, China, and Russia are three of the worst offenders left, and make no mistake, the Ukraine war is one of the last dying gasps of Colonialism.
