Since the USA annexed Hawaii, is that justification for China annexing Taiwan ?

Two wrongs don't make a right. The Feds pushed Hawaii into statehood in a frenzy at the time as our leaders watched Colonialsm collapse after WW2. We even betrayed our stalwart WW2 ally Ho Chi Minh and backed French Colonialism in Vietnam, which was the catalyst behind Hawaiian "statehood." Hawaii is a colony, by definition. The USA is actually copying Japanese Imperialism with Hawaii by making it a part of "the United States" rather than the European model of keeping it a separate impoverished "colony" designed for resource extraction. Colonialism is alive and well in countries too small in population to prevent their own ethnic and cultural genocide. This is why so many Pacific Islands remain French and American colonies today, as well as the low population Himalayan Kingdoms like Sikkim, taken by India in 79, and Tibet-which, like Hawaii, was taken in the last mad dash of Colonialism by the winners of WW2 in the 50s. The USA, China, and Russia are three of the worst offenders left, and make no mistake, the Ukraine war is one of the last dying gasps of Colonialism.

Neither does one wrong.

Should the USA set an example to the world of it's brilliant and shining freedomy demockracy and restore the Hawaiian government it overthrew when it annexed Hawaii?

If they don't should the USA harp about China potentially annexing Taiwan (about 95% population is Chinese ethnicity) ?

Is there a double standard applied? Should people or organizations that routinely rely on double standards be taken seriously?

Interesting thread.

Not because of the ridiculous comparison made by the OP but because I’ve never seen an American Libertarian shill for a communist Chinese government before.
I think you may have drawn a conclusion that is inaccurate and failed to consider all the possibilities the question in the thread title could engender. Somehow, I'm not surprised.

What do you think, is what's good for the goose, good for the gander? Are both geese wrong? Are no geese wrong? Do geese taste like chicken?

Bonus question for you!!! Should China tell Trudeau to look in the mirror?

Below is an excerpt from an article published at fox news to give you some perspective on the question asked above.

Trudeau told reporters Tuesday, "Obviously everyone in China should be allowed to express themselves, should be allowed to, you know, share their — their perspectives, and indeed protest. We’re going to continue to ensure that China knows we’ll stand up for human rights, we’ll stand with people who are expressing themselves."
In February, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history to quell the trucker's "Freedom Convoy" anti-lockdown protest in the capital city of Ottawa. This controversial decision gave the government the power to prohibit public assembly, restrict travel, require businesses - such as tow companies - to act on the government’s demands and freeze the bank accounts of those suspected of supporting the convoy.

Nice try but the freedom convoy wasn’t a protest.

Looks like you and fox got it wrong again skippy. I’m not surprised.

As an aside, I don't gush over Fox news, it was just the first article that came up when I was looking for the Trudeau quote illustrating some hypocrisy.

So a protest is not defined by the protesters, instead if it's a protest or not is a matter for "authorities" to define? That's rather convenient.
