Trying to make up some jars of LC to save some strains. I'm using wide mouth pint jars but only going to fill them up halfway. I'll use distilled water and a pinch of light malt extract. Going to use Lids that have the inoculation port and filter wrap it in foil and PC it and what I'm going to do is before I inoculate my grain jars with LC I'm going to put a drop in the jar with the lme. Anybody do this or have any input on it? Thanks

I use honey to make LC's. I also use pre-made lids with the inoculation port and the micron air filter. I haven't tried to grow another LC from an LC I've already made yet.

It's pretty easy
But you want the correct ratio of sweetener. I can't recall what that is, 4 percent?

Less than that from what Ive seen. I think 3% is what i found looking many months back, but was watching a podcast where they recommended even less than that. I think they were saying 1 or 2%, and having a higher sugar content does more harm than good.

After trying all kinds of stuff I ended up using a tiny amount for LC. I’ll make about 300ml and use a tiny pinch of lme. If you’re going to use it quickly then more would be fine but I was keeping mine for extended periods and when I used more nutrients it would get way too thick and clog the needle, and also would start colonizing the surface and pinning if I didn’t shake it regularly.

Damn that would be cool to see pins forming on liquid. So basically what you've told me before and what everybody else is saying all I need is a very small amount. Got it. What I'll do is I'll just knock the jars of LC right before I knock my grain jars

Sounds like hydroponics for mushrooms... When will we get to that point? Where we don't even even need to be using substrates, instead fruiting out on some kind of mesh screen, or something that floats on a "deep liquid culture" reservoir. Probably some kind of gelatinous skim coat membrane that keeps the solution isolated from contaminates, but still allows pins to form on the outside of it. Maybe i'm not just day dreaming, and it's already been done?

Old old tech. But not for fruit. 0

The Noc Saber, self sterilizing electronic inoculation loop.

With new and improved pan style coil that I just now made up. Hard to see but its really flat and makes good surface contact. Made from cheap brand new ecig parts I got on clearance sales awhile back. Paid less than 10-12 bucks for both the CF Mod, and the SMOK RGB rebuildable atomizer coil head, which comes with a little 510 adapter for hooking it to any mod.

Add some wire, and an 18650 battery, and good to go after one press of the button. Gets fully red hot before the button flashes and shuts off. Perfect for a first loop? What you guys think?

I dunno, still haven't made up any agar to play with yet!
