"Shut up or I will "Lock You UP!".
Glenn used to be a federal prosecutor and the laws and rules are different. If anybody did this shit to him when he was a prosecutor, he would be in jail until trial really quick. He is a bit pissed at Trump's treatment considering equality under the law begins with indictment. If some gets hurt or killed though, the judge owns it, even though they are apparently lax about this kind of thing in NY and under their law are even loath to muzzle him, much less lock him up. When he is indicted by Jack it will be a different game, and if this judge doesn't give Donald a wedgie, the federal one will make his asshole hurt for this shit.

i quit reading here...
"I would say that what happened was that Donald Trump came out of nowhere and is the first person to have the courage and the willpower to take on the entire corrupt, extremist establishment, and they're fighting in the fight of their life — they are faced with extinction."
I never respected gingrich, but i didn't think he would descend into this fucking offensive pool of bullshit so far as to risk drowning in it.
His opinion is now moot, he drank the koolaid deeply, and is now just another puppet with trump's hand up it's ass.

It opened my eyes to how thoroughly the Newt embraced New Lie Republicanism. Which suggests that the evil bullshit has been around for a while, but not (as?) openly.

i wonder how many, if any, of them actually believe any of it?
What person with an operational cerebral cortex could ever believe trump is anything more than a cheap grifting piece of subhuman filth?

I keep saying, it has been their plan since at least 1948. It's just good for the rest of us that as they grow increasingly more criminally insane, they become stupider and sloppier.
I place it 12 years later, because I’ve always thought Eisenhower was OK. But my knowledge of that time is shallow. He warned of the corporate fascists (military-industrial complex), and I heard it opined that it was decided at the highest levels that Kennedy had to go because he wouldn’t play.

It stinks of conspiracy ideation, but it has some explanatory power. I welcome any links to facts that point out otherwise.

Eisenhower was just the president.
Strom Thurmond, Fielding Wright, Richard Russel jr., and a host of other southern law makers were the driving force, and they never went away. They and their successors have sat in the shadows since then, causing as much havoc as they can.

I have no idea as to the actual killers of JFK, what you posit is as at least as likely as any of the other theories i have heard, and more so than some.

Everybody believes at least one conspiracy theory; some have more grounds than others and all conspiracy theories are not created equally the Kenndy one is easier for reasonable people to swallow than the moon landing hoax or flat earth fallacy. J6 is a conspiracy theory too, because there was an actual conspiracy and we the public have the evidence, though nothing has been proven in court yet and Trump while not innocent is presumed as such, but there are rare times when ya should just cut to the fucking chase!

Trump and Gingrich are but the symptom of the disease, fascism, as AmeriKKKan as Hitler is German.
Gingrich helped engineer Reagan's dream back in the 80s. Trump's part of the result, the rest of it are
the old AmeriKKKan fascists who ride on what Reagan and Gingrich, et al, tell them to believe.

The United States House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded in 1978 evidence pointed to a conspiracy. The Warren Commission’s purpose was political, to close the case as quickly as possible. It was a coverup, essentially.

It's sad that American patriots only have one choice, because American fascists have their choice one too. A two-party system is only one party better than a one-party system and that is what you will have, or you will have suicide as the other option. Political parties are not mentioned in the constitution and are in effect private clubs and yet there are laws in many states that ensure they are the only two options.

Open primaries in all 50 is one way out and will result in less radical more middle of the road candidates who are more likely to compromise. It might not get rid of MAGA, but it will whittle them down to their true size, which isn't really that big except in extreme gerrymandered districts. By not requiring people to register as one or the other, open primaries reduce party affiliation and tribalism.

It is not the solution but is a path on the road to better solutions and a functioning government. Right now, the republicans are selecting psychos and grifters as candidates automatically, only such an asshole will do and like Trump, they can smell it. Closed primaries are grifter gold, you just tell horrible people what they want to hear and with republicans that isn't hard to figure out, even an idiot like Trump can figure it out.

As I said J6 is a conspiracy too, everything is until proven in court, but most people have "questions". Just as there are degrees of Hell, the "quality" of conspiracy theories varies a lot, from hard evidence to "people are saying"! Somethings may forever remain a mystery.

Wait until Jack busts his ass over the top-secret docs and obstruction cases, the general nature of the documents will become known even more. So, if the feds bust Donald for the docs, he mouths off and the judge throws him in jail, probably 60 or 65% of Americans would approve. He's up to 50% who want his ass now, up from 45% a month ago! As the indictments and especially convictions roll in, he will get down to the hard core 25% for whom facts don't matter at all.

Note the lack of indignation at a President who mishandled classified documents and Trumps other crimes, the dead pan delivery of Barr, a co criminal who will get away with it.

Trump appeals order for Pence to testify in Jan. 6 probe
Former President Trump’s legal team is appealing a sealed order requiring limited testimony from former Vice President Pence after a judge determined he must answer questions from the Justice Department about some aspects of Trump’s attempts to stay in power.

The challenge from Trump’s team comes after Pence’s lawyers said they would not appeal a ruling from D.C. District Court Chief Judge James Boasberg that in part sided with Pence. The ruling ordered him to answer questions about Trump’s efforts to stay in power ahead of Jan. 6 but agreed Pence’s role as president of the Senate allowed for him to be shielded from being questioned about the day itself.

A spokesperson for Pence declined to comment on Trump’s appeal.

The vice president’s team announced last week that Pence would not appeal Boasberg’s ruling, saying that while they believed the ruling was too narrowly applied, the judge had vindicated Pence’s argument on constitutional grounds.

At the same time, Pence’s team recognized that Trump could separately choose to appeal the executive privilege ruling. Pence would comply with any decisions made on executive privilege grounds, an official said.

The ruling allows Pence to walk a careful line, complying with a Justice Department issued subpoena while dodging some questions about Trump as Pence weighs whether to launch his own race for the White House in 2024.

The effort from Trump’s team seeks to block any Pence involvement in the inquiry, arguing that the former president can block his testimony through executive privilege.

But the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has rejected that argument from Trump in an earlier case, siding with the Justice Department within a matter of hours on another sealed ruling from a prior chief judge who ordered several former Trump White House officials to testify, including chief of staff Mark Meadows.

The back and forth over whether Pence will testify, and how much he will say, comes amid the backdrop of the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Trump is already a declared candidate and is leading in national polls by a healthy margin, while Pence is expected to decide in the coming weeks whether he will launch a campaign of his own.

Attorneys for Trump did not respond to request for comment, but a Trump campaign spokesman called the case a continuation of an effort to hinder his electoral prospects.

“The DOJ is continuously stepping far outside the standard norms in attempting to destroy the long accepted, long held, Constitutionally based standards of attorney-client privilege and executive privilege,” a Trump spokesman said in a statement.

“The Special Counsel is conducting a witch-hunt where the government has sought to violate every Constitutional norm, including the safeguards that protect a President’s ability to confer with his Vice President on matters of the security of the United States.”

Pence’s team had argued the Speech and Debate clause should shield the former vice president from questions relating to his role leading the Senate the day of the riot, using the unique role as a buffer against the DOJ investigation as lawmakers have a constitutional protection from being “questioned in any other place.”

They don't need Pence or much of anything else to indict him over the Top-Secret documents and obstruction cases. By all reports Jack is moving like a freight train at high speed and Donald is tied to the tracks squirming. It is the most dangerous case, the simplest and quickest to try and he has no defense. Just being indicted federally will change the game considerably for Donald, with much tighter rules, if he is lucky enough to be released upon indictment in the first place. Judges are drawn at random, but jack can time his indictment to the wheel of fortune because they know where it is likely to stop.
