Yesterday's Mass Shooting.

Congratulations America! Yet another blow struck for freedom! Keep it up and you will be even more "free". I'm done feeling sorry, it's just too exhausting. Thoughts and prayers, it is not a tragedy, it is entirely preventable and is a deliberate act of malice, but not by the shooter, they apparently are insane, but by those who want to keep guns free in America and the politicians who support them, while imprisoning everybody else in fear.

Excuse me if I laugh at repeated stupidity while crying for the victims, those who cling to their guns don't care how many kids or others die and this won't change their minds, because they just don't care enough to give up their toys. Fuck you will be the response and until you fuck them back nothing will change.

5 dead and at least 6 taken to the hospital in Louisville mass shooting, police say. The shooter is dead
Did they say what model of gun he used? (sarcasm)

Guns are a lot like landmines, the more that are laying around unaccounted for the more likely they are to go off, so sprinkling 400 million land mines around will probably cause about the same number of deaths and injuries as gun deaths each year, and guns are replenished regularly.

We’re scared? Of what? I’m not the one pulling the gun out because an “unmarked” fed ex van pulled up. You have a stockpile of weapons in case the fed ex guy tries anything funny
He's part of the cult. His reply made no sense and was more of a reaction to being told he was a coward than anything else.

"I am not a coward, you're a coward".

Just a childish, base emotional response. He's not facing up to the fact that his gun loving death cult causes 4 times the homicide rate in his home state compared other US states and 7 times that of Canada. He wants to think he's some sort of super hero and neither you or I are not giving him that. It stings him in his narcissistic prideful behind.

Having students write their obit is scarier than an active shooter drill? They seem to go hand in hand.

Florida teacher fired after asking students to write their obits before active shooter drill
A central Florida high school teacher has been fired after he asked students to write their own obituaries ahead of an active shooter drill.

Jeffrey Keene, a psychology teacher at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, said he was made aware of the shooter drill on April 3. Speaking with NBC News, Keene said he felt students writing their own obituaries would help them “reflect on their lives during the school shooter scenario.”

According to NBC News, Keene gave the assignment to a class of 11th and 12th graders during first period on April 4.

He told his class of 35 students, “This isn’t a way to upset you or anything like that. It wasn’t to scare them or make them feel they were going to die, but just to help them understand what’s important in their lives and how they want to move forward with their lives and how they want to pursue things in their journey.”

However, by second period, students from his class said they were being interviewed by school administrators about the assignment. By seventh period, the teacher — who had been hired in January — had been fired.

“If you can’t talk real to them, then what’s happening in this environment?” Keene asked NBC News. “In my mind, I’ve done nothing wrong.”

On Monday, Nexstar’s WFLA reached out to the Orange County School District regarding Keene’s employment status. The district spokesperson responded by stating that the school administration immediately investigated the situation and the “employee has been terminated.”

“While the district does not comment on employee matters, Dr. Phillips High School families were informed that a teacher gave an inappropriate assignment about school violence,” the district’s media relations manager Michael Olldendorff said in a statement. “Administration immediately investigated and the probationary employee has been terminated. Please note that an employee appointed on probationary status shall attain permanent status in his or her current position upon successful completion of at least a 1-year probationary period.”

Keene told NBC News that since he was a new hire and not a member of the union, it wasn’t possible for him to reverse the school district’s final decision. The 63-year-old teacher said he plans to find another teaching job and reportedly “vowed not to change anything.”

“I don’t think I did anything incorrectly,” Keene said. “I know hindsight is 20/20 but I honestly didn’t think a 16-, 17-, 18-year-old would be offended or upset by talking about something we’re already talking about.”

Keene, a teacher since 2008, told Orlando’s WOFL he plans to appeal his termination.

I will be curious to hear their rationale for calling it inappropriate, in the face of the already absurd tragedy of drilling for the eventuality.

That gun number would be a lot lower in Canada if not for smuggled US arms, black market handguns have more value and are harder and riskier to obtain. The recent mass murderer here in NS, killing 22 used guns smuggled from America, the murder was deemed unfit to possess them in Canada. Being dressed like a Mountie and driving a fake cop car helped with the body count.

My youngest (now in college) had a nightmare after his second grade class participated in an active shooter drill. Those things are traumatizing for young ones. I contacted the school and arranged to get him in to see a counselor. But these were young adults, 17 and 18 YO. The teacher gave a good reason for why he did it.

“I don’t think I did anything incorrectly,” Keene said. “I know hindsight is 20/20 but I honestly didn’t think a 16-, 17-, 18-year-old would be offended or upset by talking about something we’re already talking about.”

I mean, they were going to have that drill. They were going to practice what to do in case of an active shooter. It's not as if those kids were being sheltered from the real world in that regard. As a father, I was outraged that seven year old was traumatized by that drill but much more outraged that our society has to mandate those drills. Much more outraged at our gun culture. The school's principal and the student's parents are reacting to the wrong thing.

If they were not able to be smuggled in by way of America they surely would have found a way in from another country.

No, not nearly as many, look at Australia. They smuggle them in by drone, but that is being addressed by several means. More guns in America mean more guns in Canada and Mexico, all the people murdered there are murdered with smuggled American guns, drugs one way and cash and weapons the other. One reason why I have an interest in American gun control, other than certain things like basic human rights and the struggle for liberal democracy, I try to stay out of American domestic affairs, not my business, guns in America are though since it afflicts and affects me. I mean I comment on the news and events, since we share the same media and TV networks, but I'm clear about who I am and where I'm from.

lol

He's just mad that nobody takes him seriously. For example, his claim that nothing can be done.

I think I'll just take the word of the DOJ over a cynic with nothing to say..

That fact was settled more than 30 years ago. Gun nuts learn slow.

Quick question do you know the difference between a citizen and a servant???
Oh, hi, So nice to see you here. I asked you a question earlier and you must have been busy and didn't reply. I'm definitely not saying you are ducking the question, no definitely not saying you are ducking.

I was wondering if you would please expound for us your draconian idea to make an army of appointed "counselors" be the decision makers whether or not an applicant can be allowed to have a gun.
