How arrogant do you have to be to try and shape public policy for tens of millions of people and conspire to remove their basic human rights by basically bribing public officials and judges. America needs new laws to deal with these kinds of illegal political conspiracies because people are not just getting a free pass for this kind of shit, they are rewarded. The republicans who support this shit and lower taxes on the super-rich are brainwashed and fear driven by foxnews. While they are being distracted by mostly made-up culture wars and lies repeated so often, they become reality for their viewers and even cast doubts even among those who are not, because the lie is so pervasive.

Rupert Murdoch was largely responsible for Brexit because he personally didn't like the EU, he drove the issue in the UK and there is evidence of his influence in this disastrous decision for the UK. He was not even a citizen of the country, yet he managed to steer it into economic disaster for no real reason at all. Look what Rupert has done to America so far, from bringing you the second Iraq war, to Trump, supporting the big lie, J6, profiting by promoting bigotry and racism and of course helping to murder hundreds of thousands of Americans with covid disinformation. Foxnews is the propaganda wing of the republican party and has been for decades, giving them billions in free advertising and warping American culture and society. Now he is helping to kill Americans with guns, by supporting more guns to make more headlines and opposing all measures to control them, while stoking race-based fear among its viewers to the point where they blow away someone pulling into their driveway or become paranoid about a UPS driver and start fingering their fucking gun.

When Donald is federally indicted, Meatball Ron will have the field to himself, Donald could be indicted, convicted and in jail or prison by primary season. Meatball Ron could make a comeback. Donald will run from his prison cell, assuming he has any money by then, if he has money, he will make a bull moose run or even win the nomination from a cell. The republican party has sunk that low that after being convicted of the docs and obstruction charges and in jail, he could win the nomination and then be on trial with a hundred others for the J6 conspiracy during the summer and fall before the election. That is aside from the shit he is in in NY and Georgia.

How long will Donald's coattails be. How many republicans will continue to hold onto them as the goes over the edge and into the abyss? How Many of the bastards will he take down with him and how much will he end up dividing the republican vote? If he is a bull moose, he will attack the whole party for "betraying" him and disloyalty, he will tell the base the RINOs took over and are selling them out. I'll bet if he was running a bull moose from federal prison, it would be arranged to let him make his anti-republican views known as much as possible. Let the republicans try to muzzle him and bitch at Garland for allowing him to speak from his cell. He is no ordinary presidential candidate and has a large amount of support, many will want to hear his words of wisdom. There may also be many republicans still tied to his ass as he attacks the party relentlessly and their nominee in particular. Let him take them down from his cell, he is good at destroying republican presidential hopefuls, especially if they are the party's nominee.

Donald Trump is surging ahead of possible 2024 opponent Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in polls, and he’s gaining endorsements from Florida lawmakers as well. Rolling Stone Senior Political Reporter, Asawin Suebsaeng, and Press Secretary for Equality Florida, Brandon Wolf, joined MSNBC’s Alicia Menendez to discuss the GOP playing field, and how DeSantis’ harsh policies in Florida set the tone for his nationwide ambitions.

Mace: Republicans ‘going to lose huge’ in 2024 with current abortion policies
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) blasted Republicans for their abortion policies, saying on Sunday the GOP is “going to lose huge” if it continues to embrace increasingly restrictive stances on the procedure.

“As Republicans, we need to read the room on this issue because the vast majority of folks are not in the extremes,” Mace said on ABC’s “This Week.” “We’re going to lose huge if we continue down this path of extremities.”

Mace, a moderate Republican and a survivor of sexual assault, has criticized the GOP for its abortion policies since the fall of Roe v. Wade last year.

On Sunday, she took aim at a number of state-level moves to restrict abortion access, pointing at a six-week abortion ban that was signed in Florida last week “in the dead of night.”

She also blasted a bill in her home state of South Carolina that would have subjected women who get abortions to the death penalty, saying the bill gave “more rights to rapists than women who have been raped.”

“That is the wrong message heading into ’24,” Mace said. “And finding that middle ground, the vast majority of people want some sort of gestational limits, not at nine months, but somewhere in the middle. They want exceptions for rape and incest. They want women to have access to birth control.”

Mace also applauded the decision of the Supreme Court to allow mifepristone, a widely used abortion drug, to remain available as its federal approval, which has stood for over 20 years, faces an appeal in a federal court.

“It was the right decision on Friday night by the Supreme Court,” Mace said.

after being humiliated by trump, i don't think desantis could get the nomination if he was running unopposed...Southern male culture is very about "personal honor"...and trump just pissed on desantis like a dog marking it's territory. Now desantis looks weak, he'll definitely get less support because of it.

I'm hoping he runs a bull moose or runs as the republican nominee from his cell. It would probably take out more congressional republicans if he ran as a bull moose with his own congressional candidates in some states and attacked the GOP more than the democrats during the election. I dunno how many republican votes he could siphon off, but 10% of the GOP base would not be unreasonable and it could even be higher, depending on who the republican nominee was. If he is a candidate and doing federal time, I think Garland would let him campaign from his cell, just to be fair. ;)

Make no mistake, Garland was the one largely responsible for the delays in prosecuting Trump, he was the political player and has prosecutorial discretion. 2022 was expected to be a write off, even after the j6 report which went close to the election, and he could have been facing majorities in the senate and a big one in the house. Then after the election he appointed Jack and then it was out of his control, and he knew the timeline for the investigation and indictments. Garland knows that there will be no justice for as long as the republicans control any part of congress or the presidency. The SCOTUS is falling apart in front of his eyes, and he might have to indict Thomas and let it go to the supreme court for a decision on which Thomas won't recuse himself from! Garland's revenge on the conservative justices, make them declare that they are above the law, if they want Thomas to get off, the asshole has no shame and can't be impeached, so put him in a fucking cell, robes and all!

GOP works to keep abortion rights measures off state ballots: report
Republicans in several states are working to make it harder to pass abortion rights measures after such initiatives saw success in other places last year, according to a new report.

The New York Times reports that GOP state lawmakers in Ohio are pushing for a ballot amendment that would raise the passage requirement for a constitutional amendment from a simple majority to a 60 percent supermajority threshold — as abortion rights advocates work to get a constitutional amendment protecting abortion before fetal viability on the ballot.

Similar GOP efforts to block similar abortion rights measures have been underway in five other states, the Times reports. Arkansas and North Dakota, for example, have both made recent moves to stiffen the process for proposed constitutional amendments, the Times found.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer, Democrats were able to use the issue to win over some swing voters, leaving Republicans to rethink their strategy on the issue.

Voters during last year’s midterms approved ballot measures to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitutions of California, Vermont and Michigan — and rejected measures that would have restricted the care in Montana and Kentucky.

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) on Sunday warned the GOP is “going to lose huge” if the party continues to embrace restrictive stances on abortion.
“As Republicans, we need to read the room on this issue because the vast majority of folks are not in the extremes,” Mace said.

Some recent polling indicates that most Americans support abortion being legal in all or most cases — and House Republicans have notably distanced themselves from talk of a national abortion ban.

Abortion is an issue well past it's best before date and is a millstone around the republican's necks. They can't change on abortion; they would lose too many single-issue fanatical voters and much of their religious base. Things are so close nationally that if the republicans lost 10% of their support over abortion or Trump turning on them, they would be screwed at the polls. You can't convince them, so divide them to conquer them.

Texas Senate passes bill requiring public school classrooms to display Ten Commandments
I think we don't need to mention the constitution, this is just red meat for the fools, they know it will be struck down and will end up costing the taxpayers for a stupid political stunt. It is a waste of money and time and another example of disrespect and betrayal of the US constitution, it is not a patriotic act, if they are knowingly violating the US constitution, it is a crime. They need to start treating this as a crime too and the feds should indict them, they are blatantly violating the US constitution as government officials. Maybe a new federal law is required to cover shit like this and give the fuckers 5-year mandatory minimums. Generally, I don't believe in mandatory minimums for regular crimes, but for suits and political types, it is an effective deterrent. It would be nice to indict every member of the state house who voted for this and send them to prison, it would send a message to the fascists, fuck with the US constitution and find out.

If the democrats win conspiring to limit the votes of minorities should be a specific crime. So, should conspiring to interfere with a woman's basic human rights, in particular reproductive rights. It would in effect make all these anti-abortion groups illegal entities. You need to go to war with these fascist cocksuckers and show them in no uncertain terms the free ride is over for fascism in America. Start with foxnews and regulate cable like broadcast TV and make their business model impossible. Just having the ability to haul the like of Rupert Murdoch in, put them under oath and start asking them questions would put an end to it FFS.

If you knock them down in 24, there will be no excuse for not keeping them down in their present form and no shortage of them in jail either, since they can't seem to stop breaking the law.
