The one I got had a cap. Not sure what went wrong.... Maybe I'll try a better setup. Vac pump will run you around 100-150 for a single stage 200-250 for 2 stage. (Lower end entry level type)
I have 2 single stage pumps kicking around. I use them to purge bho.

Honestly, I think the one I got is junk. I'm gona try again with a diff Buchner funnel. I need to research the frit and see whether G1, G2, or G3 would work better.
Ya there's no way the oil would ever get into the product. Not a concern of mine. It's strange, there is vacuum...the lid sucks down good but it looses vac quick. It has a really stupid clamp that connects the funnel to the beaker, where I believe I'm loosing vac. So I can never get down to -29.9hg. Prob why it's not pulling the water out.

It's a really cool idea. I just need to tweak it, and find the right components to make it work. I even ran it for like 5mins straight and beaker is still drier than a nuns cunt.

@Jjgrow420 are you using a big ass buchner like in the vid? If so, I'm going to go ahead and guess if you are, you're pulling too much air around the hash and not the hash direct enough, if that makes sense.

It does make sense. I tried placing the hash right on top of the frit (on the screen of coarse) and even packing the screen around the sides of the funnel so the air would pass right through the hash. I'm thinking @doughper might be on the right track with the small hole on top forcing the air through the funnel more. Will try it before I send it back to amazon.

I think this may be the issue. Mine has a gasket that seats the filter in the glass. Shouldn’t take much vacuum it would seem (but I have never tried it lol)

My experience with buchners was for filtering purposes, cleaning up chlorophyll from extractions. So I never tried with a solid ( hash) But I would make two filters out of diatomaceous earth and carbon that started as slurrys, and when I pulled a vacuum on them, they really dried out and became solid. So i really dont see why this wouldn't work.
Yup, close up the hole a little and see what happens.

I was looking for a 24/40 fitting funnel male and 24/40 female extra thick beaker but shipping would have taken a couple weeks and it would have been double the price.

The paper is a really low mircon, so it would probably help with the vacuum. I've never seen a buchner funnel being used with any other type of filter.

Ah, I see what your saying. Well I'll try this hole deal first see what happens, next step would.be proper paper. But I think in the vid he said he was using a press screen. I can't fully remember lol that was yesterday
