saw my "new" back doctor this morning. I saw him from about 2010 -2017, but when he joined the hospital in 2017 things went downhill bigtime.

Today I saw his nurse practitioner, who said "yep, we can fuse those SI joints together the rest of the way". There's only 2 things that can be done for SI joints....injections of fuse them. She did order some genetic testing to rule out some common genetic thing....and I have an MRI scheduled for August 2, and then a follow up the end of August. So basically I am fu@@ed, just trying to see how badly with some fresh imaging.

Oh boy do I hate MRI's....I'll take many many xanax and have a driver.:shock::shock::shock:
See if your doctor can get you in an open MRI. They're way less stressful than getting stuffed in that little tube. A lot of places near colleges have them as athletes can be too big to fit in the regular ones. That's my problem, I have a 54" jacket size and I'm just too wide in the shoulders to squeeze into a lot of them. University of VA has a large diameter regular one that works but I really like the open one. Fusion is on deck for me too eventually but I'm just trying to hold off as long as I can before getting it done. Hope everything goes well for you.

Valium but close enough :p

OK I gotta ask.

Were you in a L shape for half a year before or after the fusion?

So it worked for you? No more constant SI pain?

My aunt had one and hers worked.

My pain dr. said they are bad, but he also said he's biased as he only sees the ones that didn't work out, which I guess is a large number.

Oh I just caught a good after lunch nap....One of many lately. Damn Amazon woke me.

But unfortunately not all my pain will ever be gone and I will hafta go under the knife again so make sure that you get a good surgeon :hump: :peace: :bigjoint:

I am thinking you had a different fusion. You broke your back didn't you? They probably fused your spine.

Just watching the news....those Canada fires are still burning heavy o_O
Kinda blown disk and the bones are falling apart I also have rods in my lower back and plates in my neck had a battery in my ass for 5 years shocking my spine small peace of advice do not go and weld or go anywhere close to one not a good time long long story just trust me on this one lol

I'm missing the inside part of my right calf due to nerve damage from my exploded disk. My Dr said my spine was pink from irritation, it is supposed to be white. He never saw that before. He chose to not fuse it because he said it had already been riding bone to bone anyway. I spent 4 hours on the table. I guess they can put synthetic disks in now, would have been nice if they had that in 99. I'm hoping it will realign itself and get off the nerve it is on at the moment. Been a couple months now.
