Fucking over the US military and government is a family tradition for many in the south who never got over losing the civil war and blacks having the vote. They successfully used domestic terrorism for over 100 years after the civil war and the KKK once was a powerful fascist terrorist organization in American politics, they still are in some places, like where Tommy comes from.
