That's the chatter, we will see. It's a deep red area of rural mountain folks so flipping that seat is a tall order. The guy (frisch) came very close without much institutional support, my guess is that he will be better funded this go around. Bobo isn't doing herself any favors. The dem is just running as a centrist/conservative democrat and not being the ridiculous sideshow that is Bobo.

Then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) didn’t respond to warnings from Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) about the Jan. 6 insurrection in the days before the riot, according to a new biography on the Utah Republican.
In an excerpt of the biography by McKay Coppins published in The Atlantic on Wednesday, Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) reportedly texted Romney, requesting a call about something “important” on Jan. 2, 2021.
King warned him of threats of violence — including some specifically against Romney — during the Jan. 6 certification of the Electoral College votes, citing a conversation with a high-ranking Pentagon official.
“Law enforcement has been tracking online chatter among right-wing extremists who appear to be planning something bad on the day of Donald Trump’s upcoming rally in Washington, D.C. The president has been telling them the election was stolen; now they’re coming to steal it back,” the excerpt reads, paraphrasing King’s conversation with Romney.
“There’s talk of gun smuggling, of bombs and arson, of targeting the traitors in Congress who are responsible for this travesty,” it continues. “Romney’s name has been popping up in some frightening corners of the internet, which is why King needed to talk to him. He isn’t sure Romney will be safe.”
Romney passed the message on to McConnell, typing him a text message.
“In case you have not heard this, I just got a call from Angus King, who said that he had spoken with a senior official at the Pentagon who reports that they are seeing very disturbing social media traffic regarding the protests planned on the 6th,” Romney wrote, according to the book.
“There are calls to burn down your home, Mitch; to smuggle guns into DC, and to storm the Capitol. I hope that sufficient security plans are in place, but I am concerned that the instigator—the President—is the one who commands the reinforcements the DC and Capitol police might require,” he said.
But Romney never received a response, per the book. The attack on the Capitol Building occurred just four days later.
In the immediate aftermath of the Jan. 6 riots, McConnell blamed then-President Trump for the violence. In a speech nearly a year later, despite voting to acquit Trump on impeachment charges related to the riot, McConnell again placed the responsibility on the former president.
“There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day,” McConnell said. “A mob was assaulting the Capitol in his name. These criminals were carrying his banners, hanging his flags, and screaming their loyalty to him.”
However, McConnell has avoided saying whether Trump should be held criminally liable for the riots.
Romney was one of seven Republican senators who did vote to convict Trump on impeachment charges related to the Jan. 6 riot.
Romney announced on Wednesday that he will not run for re-election in 2024.
The announcement marks the end of a 20-year political career that saw him serve as Massachusetts’ governor and run as the GOP nominee for president in 2012 before becoming one of Utah’s senators.

Capital idea after he is disqualified, if he led the "Write Trump in" movement personally and promoted it among his fact free fans, how much would it screw the GOP by? Would he take 20 or 30% of their vote for something only a moron would fall for? Spread the idea among the magats and it might filter up to him, it will salve his injured ego and wounded asshole having millions write him in and even if he got just 10 million votes he could claim it was rigged and he really won. Since he will be in prison, he will need money for such a crusade, lots of money for all those legal challenges! 
Maybe, the write in Trump scam will need a fund-raising PAC? If there is an angle and a dollar to be grifted from his suckers, then he would go for it.Donald's fundraising needs for legal expenses will increase during election season and soak up a lot of cash the republicans would have gotten for their election efforts. Trump has encouraged the effort both privately and publicly.
Greene, who has introduced articles of impeachment against Biden, said she told Trump she wanted the impeachment inquiry to be “long and excruciatingly painful for Joe Biden.”
She would not say what Trump said in response, but she said her ultimate goal was to have a “long list of names” — people whom she claimed were co-conspirators involved in Biden family crimes. She said she was confident Trump would win back the White House in 2024 and that she wanted “to go after every single one of them and use the Department of Justice to prosecute them.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said Wednesday that he does not support criminalizing abortion in his state.
“We have no criminal penalty,” he said in a CBS News interview. “The penalties are for the physician.”
Florida’s six-week abortion ban is not in effect, pending a lawsuit, but would enable the state to pursue felony charges against “any person who willfully performs or actively participates in a termination of pregnancy,” it reads.
DeSantis said those penalties would be for medical providers, not women seeking care, saying he is “absolutely not” in favor of criminalizing abortion for women and that it “will not happen in Florida.”
The presidential candidate has not said whether he would support a national ban similar to his state’s pending six-week law or the current 15-week law.
“I support pro-life policies,” he said. “I’ll be a pro-life president. But at the same time, I’ve got to chart the course and be honest with people about, Okay, how do you advance the ball like we did in Florida? And the way you do that is really bottom up.”
Abortion has proven an important issue on the 2024 GOP campaign trail. While all GOP candidates consider themselves to be anti-abortion, some have endorsed national bans, while others have not.

They interview a small cross section of people stupid enough to attend a Trump event, most look and sound like the should be on a government pension for intellectual disability or mental health issues. There are many others though who don't go to rallies and look and sound normal, it looks like more evil than stupid and ignorant for them, the ones who should know better.
Most of these ones seem lost without Trump, directionless and bound to no real ideology, most don't even know what that means. One wonders what their reaction would be to Trump being disqualified and then leading a drive to have himself written in on the ballot for egotistical purposes and thinking that his popularity would help with his legal problems. To be disqualified from the primaries or the general election would be a disaster for him, and he would have to say he was cheated out of it and the republican nominee is a RINO. That is for as long as he is running around loose which could come to an end during the GOP primaries in the spring of 24. If he is out on appeal, great, it will give him more time to attack the GOP, endorse his own republican candidates and whip up more support to have himself written in on the ballot. If he is in jail people will make AI fake videos of him encouraging people to write him in on the ballot and post them on social media. I wonder how quick Twitter will be to take them down? Liberals will be distributing "WRITE TRUMP IN" lapel pins and hats to magats at republican events!
