I go to Tahoe a couple times a year for the past three years in a row now.

Last time we went, I had to drive on ice for over a hundred miles to get home. You have no idea how many “snow chains required” signs I passed in a my gf’s little ford focus as i drove without chains or winter tires, lol

Still traumatized, but proud that I didn’t have any issues during the drive. Saw dozens of people in the ditch or spun out in the road, and I just kept chugging along without issue.

If you went on 395 that road sucks on a good day...

Mostly 395 except a BIG back country detour around Topaz Lake that I decided to take…that’s a WHOLE other experience.

Basically, I thought the road was closed at Topaz Lake, so I took this detour a ways before, the 208 to the 338, which turns into the 182 when you cross from Nevada into California. It connects back to the 395 in Bridgeport.

The only thing was, the 395 WASN’T closed at Topaz Lake, so I took a crazy detour that took us onto some remote back country canyons in the snow and ice, with NO ONE around. I mean, I only saw ONE other car during this like 2 hour detour.

So if I had wrecked the car or gotten stuck, no one would be out there to help us, and the tow trucks in the entire region were already booked 2 days out due to this first crazy flash storm that started last seasons record snow pack.

We woulda been fucked. Like foooooooked. Stuck in below freezing conditions in a car for who knows how long…haha.

In hindsight, not my brightest decision…but we made it out just fine luckily.

EDIT : Neither of us had cell service for the majority of the detour. So couldn’t even call for help if help WAS available

It's been funny watching many of my NY friends and associates rag on Cali. weed as soon as NY legalized. Like they weren't just praising it the year before when they tried to tax folks. Everyone is a grow expert now and you can't tell them anything, which means the avenue for sharing knowledge is often a dead end.

Rain was kind of hit and miss here Sat. Chico and Paradise had a thunderstorm that dumped on them.
It rained here like a mofo when I was gone.
Yeah, hoping for a good season. As you know, been pretty mild summer down here, did y’all get any rain on Saturday? I got dumped on at the zoo with my kid for about 20 minutes
North lake tahoe just got some sprinkles saturday. On and off.
