That’s not necessarily correct. The human eye will dilate in white light, think of walking out of a dark room, it takes just a second for your eyes to close the iris enough so the light is a proper level. Walk into red lighting and nothing happens. That’s why red lights are used in the military for darken ship, you keep your night vision but still see. Photons are photons, but at different frequencies that effect us and plants in different ways, otherwise the spectrum of your light would be meaningless, all that would count is watts. The effects of green light on plants may not trigger flowering, I believe that is still being studied and debunked, but there is likely a frequency that has a higher likelihood to trigger flowering.

I was generalising yes, but as far as light interfering with the plants dark cycle then photons from any spectrum will interrupt it. The amount is more relevant as to how much it will interfere with the cycle.

I understand. I do believe it is proven red and far red have more of an effect on flowering, and blue and violet have less direct effect, but the human eye sucks at seeing low level blues, so green has been thought safer, and yes high levels of green will still mess with the flower cycle. I’m getting off track, the original question was are green security flood lights safe, and you are correct there, not necessarily depending on how bright. I need to go grab my bong and relax a bit.

That’s simply not right sorry. In fact green spectrum penetrates deeper into the plant than other spectrums and is absorbed just as efficiently as red light.

Green does cause photosynthesis even tho its practically the least effective wavelength, it works much like blue in effecting plant shape. Green lights at night would likely make a short, fat leaf plant if it didn't cause a total reveg . Would not be ideal for node spacing
