Update on my 3 outside girls. Shineapple are the two 7 ftrs and Catalina wine mixer is the smaller girl in the middle. Keep thinking they are starting preflower but not quite yet. Insect wise here in coastal va lots of leaf hoppers and all the other normal predators! IPM of Lost Coast and BT so far has been pretty good. Very minimal pm a month ago and none since. (We had 8+” of rain over the weekend. Next 6 weeks and hopefully will be past the worst! Good luck everbody! Leaves on the big girls are a little droopy because it was dusk when i snapped the fotos.

Last year I had quite a few mantis living on my plants. Haven't seen any yet this year. Definitely have some spider friends lurking though.
hell yeah…the paper wasps have started to show some interest in my plants, hopefully they eat up some baddies…been finding more and more pirate bugs on all plants, some seem to be nesting in the new leaf shoots…have also been seeing a lot of hoverflies/tachnid flies around ..i heard they are also predators

my plants are right by a bunch of flower boxes so i guess they’re attracting some predators…was thinking of trying the predator route before i go and get some monterey Btk..looking into trichogramma spp but apparently they only parasitize eggs

I definitely got lucky. They way it turned it's head at me like "excuse me"...it was actually a little creepy.

I saw another one catch and devour a bee last year too. Felt bad for the bee, but nature is going to nature. They are really excellent hunters.
yeah they are alien looking in a way…that’s awesome, maybe i’ll order some praying mantis eggs :D

Hey mandocat, did you ever get any of your seeds from Oregon Green Seed to grow this year?

Here is one of my Outback Haze's, I've got two females and a male going.View attachment 5408344

Very pronounced serrations on the leaves.View attachment 5408347View attachment 5408348
