I think it paid off! I did a little looking up of this strain before growing and the breeder claimed it handled defoliation well. I have to agree!
A couple of comments:

If you spend some time reading through descriptions on seed vendors sites, you should pick up pretty quickly that the verbiage is reused. I won't say that it's all bullshit but the same hackneyed phrases are repeated over and over again.

Re chopping off leaves - it sounds like your plants regrew the leaves that you cut off. That's great. You now have as many leaves as you did before but your plant hasn't grown as much becayse instead of growing a larger plant, the plant had to replace the ones that you cut off. No reason not to keep doing that so that you'll have nice fresh leaves when you cut the plant down and throw the leaves out.

My goal is to maximize crop yield and quality and to maximize cannabanoids. I have zero belief and have never see any evidence that a cutting off leaves and getting the plant to regrow them will accomplish my goals.

This actually sounds like a really fun experiment! I am totally doing this next! I am going to setup my 2x2 and start growing a mother immediately! I recently bought a nice camera so I will document the whole thing. Thank you for this wonderful idea! Such an easy thing to test as well.
"Such an easy thing to test as well." Quite so.

What I was referring to was a video I watched which was a strain review of the Gorilla Cookies Auto. As far as the defoliation, I only defoliates lower branches/leaves. Which they did not grow back. I took a photo from a better angle to show how the lower portion of the plant looks. As far as my reasons for defoliating, it's not about yield for me really. It's more a out convenience and pest/mold resistance. Most flying insect pests have a harder time landing in an area where there is good air circulation. Mold tends to be more common in areas with stagnant air and high humidity. Opening the plant up a little doesn't hurt it. People see amazing yields with these techniques all the time.

My comment about reused verbiage would be applicable to videos - new format, same message. Cannabis plants are fundamentally the same that's why they're all cannabis cannabis. If there were marked differences, they wouldn't be cannabis cannabis. Sure the flowers have different colors and a different scent, etc., etc but functionally, they're cannabis cannabis.

I remove branches that are thinner than a pencil. That works well because my plants tend to be quite large but the idea is to remove anything that won't produce a mature bud.

Removing leaves to ensure air flow is a very valid reason. I lost really nice plant to bud rot early last year. It was a real heart breaker.

"People see amazing yields with these techniques all the time." I have a no doubt that growers are very pleased with the outcomes and it would be great if there was actual data about it.
