I bought a kit when we became legal in Ohio , it was what I could afford .
I knew I'd want to upgrade from the 200 watt light it came with and started saving a little money here and there .

I am ready to flip my two babies and feel that now would be a good time to upgrade the light situation.

I want led and have $250 saved up ... so better to upgrade to a 400 watt light or add another 200 watt .

2x4 , just reading threw threads im leaning towards adding a second 200 watt light . its also looking like the 400 watt lights that would work in my ten are going to be out of my price range

And it was in the title too ... one of my many D'OH! moments.

I would recommend 2 smaller lights with each light covering a 2 x 2 area as opposed to 1 larger light trying to cover the entire 8 square feet. Irrespective of their price, there will most likely come a time when you will want to have your lights at slightly different heights. With two smaller units you can do that. It's not possible with one larger rig.

I just got a new 2x4 tent and got a Spider farmer G4500. I do like it but kind of wish a had gone with two smaller lights for the versatility. I say add another sf2000.
That light rocks. I use a Growcraft and it's a good light but the G4500 is a beautiful beast!

The Spider has huge amounts of light but, what's as important is that the light cast is incredibly even. If your canopy isn't even, how about some LST or HST to even things out? Even in flower, I LST stems with fishing weights and I use plant hangers when I want to change the light levels that a given bud is getting (I use a meter to determine light levels).

I'm on my first grow with the light and its hasn't been a problem at all. I do love it. just thinking about the future with maybe different strains etc.

Ah, got it. Yeh, that's where two lights (shines) makes is easier.

Vipar sells a pair of their XS 1500 Pro's as a 2500 (I think). The XS 1550 Pro is a great light for a 2'x 2' but a pair of them won't light up a 2' x 4' with that same PPFD.

If you're in soil, you could put the plants on risers.

Just a thought.

The vipar xs 2500 pro isn't two 1500's. Different bulbs and hanging heights.
Really could do with a full review...Shane??

You're right. It's the XS3000. The 2500 appellation is my mistake.

I don't see a listing for the XS2500 on the Vipar site - [checks site] Got it. There is a P2500 which is a board light.

Shane did a review of the XS1500 Pro in the early part of this year, I seem to recall. Reviewing the 3000 would be right up his alley. I thought the XS Pro was excellent so bolting two of them together and pricing it at $200± is an excellent solution for a lot of growers.

I'm looking for a very high output, red-heavy light to replace my Growcraft flower light for my 2' x 4' and if the spectrum on the XS1500Pro was red-heavy, I'd stuff two XS2500's in there.

Many 4x 2 tent owners bought 2 x xs1500 pro.
The combined wattage is more than the xs2500 pro. Really need a good vipar xs2500 pro deep review. I think it's a great light but i'm curious to read more about the lensing impact on hanging heights.
Mines is 10" above plants at 100% with no burn.

Just picked up the xs1000 for my propagation tent. The Samsung diodes and meanwell combination sold it for me. Plus Viparspectra was my first led ever, blurple days. I run 2 HLG 260 kits in my 2x4, it's way overpowered but coverage is 100% and consistent.
