Its really easy to find articles to support our own bias, and that is a concerning thing. How does anyone actually sift through all the lies and get to the actual facts? Its practically impossible to do that, because people can and will lie in order to ensure their agendas stay in motion.

Control is the only thing that consolidated power is concerned about. All political parties are oblivious to what the people actually want.

Yes, bias is out there for sure, and in the good old USA, people are allowed to have certain biases, without persecution.

To be honest, I didn't know diddly about Robert Epstein until you mentioned his name in your post. So, i searched and found the article i posted, as well as a couple others. I also read the wiki on him. From what I could gather fairly quickly is that his google study was basically debunked. Trump and other repubs claimed his study as gospel.

You also mentioned your opinion that it is too difficult to sort truth from fiction. I'm not finding it particularly difficult to determine that Haitian migrants are not eating other people's pets. Did that seem biased to you? Well of course. I'm biased towards the truth. I'm not overly educated, but don't consider myself stupid. To be fair, our opinions are miles apart. I don't fear politicians whose talking points and policies make sense and are meant to move a country and it's people forward. Politicians who fear monger and "otherize" people who don't fit their mold scare me, but I'm white, and male, so I can't imagine what it feels like to actually be the other.

As far as creating conflict and division, lol..., well it's very easy to see who does that on a regular basis.

It sounds to me that you are trying to turn people from voting at all with your opinions. So, you sound frustrated. Just a thought. Interested to hear your response.

Obviously voting matters... I think. If there was a way to actually prove that elections are not rigged, most Americans would be more trusting and involved. Common sense suggests that if a person(s) within an organization can manipulate or alter data without getting caught, they will. Its just basic human behavior.

My general opinion is that its better to ask questions and remain a free thinker. Choosing a side/team almost guarantees a dogmatic irrational approach to questions that require a bigger scope of thinking. Tribalism is very unproductive, in my opinion.

Mind you I dont lean left or right. I ask questions, keep an open mind, and pursue Truth. Here is a simple way to really get my point across, regarding bias. What is the truth? And why is everyone shouting that they are fact checking the opposing "team"?
To a free thinker like myself, its all very entertaining.

If this video was misinformation, it would be taken down. That is YouTube policy, correct?

Again I ask... WHAT IS THE TRUTH? :eyesmoke:

Nah the 'both sides' stuff stopped when the Republicans started blocking our response to the foreign nations' attacking our citizens online over and over again because they need it to keep getting elected.

The best way I found to keep sifting through all the lies is to make sure to check it on the AP news.

Also, creating more conflict and division among the people is one of the oldest tricks in the books. History is full of examples. Same tactics different tools.
True, which is why social media provided such a beautiful tool for the propagandists to analyze and use to do just that.

When one 'team' is selling you out to foreign dictators to maintain power by causing recessions and then sitting back and trolling the other 'team' that time after time does the work to fix the mess left behind it gets a lot easier to make a decision.

It is not 'dogmatic irrational'ism to see who is punching you in the face while picking your pocket so they can give tax breaks to the richest in our nation. I would like to vote for a Republican, but during my lifetime their economic, social, rolling over to religious zealots, and active measures to suppress voting has proven to have shit results for us.

The inability for people to understand how the word 'if' is used is another problem with the way peoples' 'feels' are being manipulated. Anytime I use the word 'feel' I try to put a lot of thought into why I am feeling strongly about something I don't know much about one way or the other, and then go back to the AP news and relook at everything.

More common sense IMO would be to understand that with so many people involved and how easy it is to burn people that secrets now come out left and right, and if in what at least the last 4 years, but really the last 11+ Trump and his troll army have been pushing the election lies they would have more than just the my pillow guy and a bunch of people relying on the lies to spread to get re-elected trying to fear monger us into believing some dead dictator is manipulating our machines from beyond the grave.

Youtube keeps math videos up with obvious lies in them to trick people into believing stupid shit like 1+1=3 lol.

And yeah I actually watched one of that lady's videos. She is a great speaker, and the one I saw was really good for about the middle 5 minutes or so, then turned hard into right wing political programming. At 6 minutes she is for example taking something that was said about a baby dying after birth because it was not born healthy and then doing the right wing propaganda talking point of making that somehow Democratic policy to kill babies after they are born which is not happening.

She is just trying to sell the lies Trump is hoping to use to keep his cult scared and in panic of what 'they' are going to do to them if they don't vote for the orange dictator.

It is quite the conundrum. Corruption left and right. So what's the plan? How do we all come together to prevent all the face punching?

Notice how corruption is handled would be my suggestion.

I would post the Republicans crying about how unfair they are treated in their scandals as they rally around their 'team' but there is not much point because it is so widespread that if someone don't know what I mean, it is likely because they don't want to, but if not let me know and I will be happy to dig up a bunch of examples of Republicans being cool with their use of office being to enrich their pockets or help their election chances.

I think a lot like abusive family it is a tough one. We are in a abusive relationship with the Republicans who have been playing a very very long game to get us to this point. They are part of the American family, and we always will need to work to try to make our relationship better with them (even if they are programmed to hate anyone not in their cult atm).

Listening and talking is important, but so is stopping the right wing propaganda (even the stuff catfishing as the left) that is used to end conversations and divide people because they are so pinpointed through the social media attack to hit us where we are most vulnerable.

Also very important is to push back on the 'both sides' narrative that abusers use to deflect from their wrongdoings. People need to be held accountable for their bullshit and learn why what they are saying is wrong. Even if what they 'feel' is true is truly horrific and would be understandable if it were true, because it is not, and those lies are hurting others down the line.
