Have butchered and vac sealed 5 deer this year so far. People seem to want me to teach them how but simply stand around drinking beer while I'm the bloody dude. Not bitching, but at least pick up a knife & give it a try!

I've done both over the years. Some areas require you to be in an elevated stand in order to hunt with a rifle but hunters on the ground must use shotguns. The reduced trajectory from using an elevated platform with a rifle while aiming down is supposed to limit bullets distances as opposed to shooting flat. I'm too old to be climbing trees now so I just use a ground blind or a chair setup on the edge of a field.

I see that sucks you got restrictions some places that way rules is rules tho I just always wondered why you see folk over there hunting that way Vs Scotland mind you I envy you guys can bow hunt legally
