I've heard
More looking for terps smell and taste and buzz of course. I would like to find out info on some strains that are skunky and taste like that the whole way thru the joint.
Those guys downing autos like it's just impossible to find strong ones haven't grown any of the good ones out recently. Autos have made a Renaissance of sorts over the last couple years. It's just about like growing anything else from seed anymore. It's up to phenotypes. Sure, you can find that photo pheno that you really like and keep cloning it. But, I have seen and grown myself some phenomenal autos that are as potent as about anything I've smoked in my 52 years. I agree that it's nigh impossible to find that old school Skunk and Christmas Tree and others that I remember so fondly. I think that part of the reason that alot of autos don't have a strong smell is that those traits were bred out over the years in autos and photos for the underground stealth grows. The breeders are working hard to recapture those terms now that legalization has happened in so many places. But, people saying that autos are weak just because they're autos are... mistaken. I have grown a bunch of Mephisto plants that were better than most of the photo stuff around here. I have 1 friend who has been growing photos for years. He gets seeds from Sensi and Humboldt. He's yet to show me anything better than my last CDLC. I know that photos will still pheno out more potent stuff in the right hands but the gap is closing. You can grow great autos and you can get harvests in half the time.

I've heard a lot of people on these forums that all talk about cdlc. Guaranteed my next run will have it.
It's a great choice. Stable. Big frosty buds with an almost fuel chem taste. I've grown it a few times and never been disappointed. Mephisto pretty well started the Auto Renaissance commercially. Folks like Daz from Night Owl and Ben from Speedrun have continued the work. These folks do the hard work. They take a stable auto and cross it with a prized photo strain. They grow it a few generations and backdrops it to the photo again and repeat. Daz has talked about backcrossing to photo like 5 times then grow out and oheno hunt several generations before releasing. They say that it takes 5 years to lock down an autoflower line. The things are just user friendly for me. I love good weed whether auto or photo. I'm hoping to find a great photo pheno and keep cloning. But, it's nice to be able to go sprout to harvest in 65-70 days when needed.

Mephisto gear has proven to be top quality for me. I will say though, the indica dominants have been quick finishers. Most have started flowering in 20 something days. If everything is right with your environment, they grow really fast. I've had bigger yields off some other companies' autos, but nothing yet that came close to Mephisto plants I've grown. Honestly, I've only grown( or smoked) a couple photos that were as good as my best Mephisto plants. I'd rather have 4-5 zips of the flame than 8 of Meh. If you get everything dialed in I'm sure you'll be happy with the result.
Mephisto has some great gear / I won’t knock it at all and a few strains would absolutely run again !

in my opinion iIf you’re looking for the best quality / and quantity I would suggest Speedrun seeds or night owl “daz” used to be team mephisto btw .

I agree with your opinion on rather having 4/5 zips of killer . I’ve tested 2 strains from Speedrun so far for total thc and both were mid 20s and phenomenal smoke . Taste / potency and yield ..

I’ve had some killer fast buds phenos also , but more often than not , yiu get some bummers in a batch .2 out of 10 gorilla cookies were fire - the rest went to biomass this summer .

below are pictures of god particle and acid snow , from Speedrun . I’m currently growing boss battle in my tent , and I’d wager a hefty sum , that the two I have in autopots , will weigh in at 20-24 ounces minimum “between the 2” with possible one lb potential , depending on how much they stretch and fill out these last 4-6 weeks .
The last picture is a boss boss battle bud that is 2 weeks old and already heavily frosted and stinky / sticky

Dwc and autos imho are the second best way to grow them . I ran dwc before switching to autopots . For some reason , the autopots just grow insanely large autos and it’s the easiest system I’ve ever ran . No pumps , all gravity - set it and forget it .

The beauty of dwc is being able to dial feed in for individual plants - vs the autopots , everybody is getting the same nutrients . That being said , I’ve seen several living soil grows in autopots with 4-6 different strains , and all turning out amazing.

I want to have an autopot/Coco setup. I've seen alot of folks running coco on autopots that got great yields. I would like to learn DWC , but I'm lazy and sometimes prone to bad days and it just makes me nervous thinking how fast I could fk my plants up in bad DWC. I have been wanting to try Daz's gear and Ben's. It's just been a cash thing this year after the wreck. Mephisto runs those free 5pk deals plus 2 freebies just for spending $30+. They keep getting me with those deals but it's mostly because of all the freebies. That said, none of their stuff has been disappointing. Dutch Passion, Fast Buds, ILGM and several others have all given mixed results. I'll eventually get to Daz and Ben's gear. Daz has a couple strains that the guy on the YT video regularly gets 20+ zip per plant harvests. That's amazing. Coco in 10g bags on Autopots. He runs CO2 and all but damn! I'm still fighting the damned gnats. Apple of Eden and Bramleys Beast are working through it. So far just a few yellow leaves that I'd normally just pull anyway. Bramley's Beast is covered in frost. It's only been since 1st of November that I sprouted them. A few ugly leaves but they're praying up.

sounds like autopots were meant for you “ as they are me “ lol .
I’m the same way . The fact that there is nothing electronic , no wasted nutrients, no over/under watering , and quite possibly the simplest method of growing . With a large enough , stable reservoir - you could set it and forget it for 1-2 weeks while on vacation .

My next grow will be living soil , and just plain old PH water . Any sort of deficiency will be addressed by adding top dressing , and top watering in . I plan to upgrade to a minimum 25 gallon reservoir , possibly a 50-55 . My ladies are drinking 13 gallons dry in 2-2.5 days now .
Here is a picture of a nug, from a “mystery seed” I grew from speed run . These ended up being 5 bucks a bean - or 1/3 the price of its counterpart .
