Where's the best money spent now for lighting a 5x5 or 6x6 footprint? I need to cover 3 of them. Was about to order some more aray 750's but now I dont think I will. If similar tech is available for less cost, someone point me in that direction please. I have been happy with the performance thus far, but haven't gotten thru a runso cant really speak for end results. This my first LED grow. Im an HID guy
If you're getting good results from the Migro light, there's a strong argument to buy more of that product.
The decision, for me, is to buy the products that fulfill certain price and performance criteria. What the company might or might not have done is not something that I am able to judge and, unless it impacts the product or the support of that product, is not part of the buying decision. If we start opening
that kimono, my over 50 years of work experience (multiple careers in multiple countries and multiple states here in the US) would indicate that my choices of many types products would be
drastically reduced.
The spectrum for the Migro has a high percentage of red which impacts how cannabis grows and it has an excellent PPFD map but the 16" PPFD map shows only 4' of coverage rather than the full 5' x 5'. That larger area is a lot of space to cover.
Given the funds, it's hard to beat the Grand Master
Tarantula Tent Ultimate 5' x 5'. The PPFD map is extraordinary but, unless you're going to add CO2 to your grow space, you won't be taking advantage of the full capabilities of the GML or of the Migro, for that matter.
In terms of the switch over from HID to LED, there are a few significant differences. One is the change in leaf temperatures, another is the spectrum and, finally, the light cast ("PPFD map") in LED's is far more even. Have you looked into those topics?
