Forbidden fruit breeders cut - dwc , 4x4 , jacks , kind x750

Can’t get over just how fruity this strain actually is . Absolutely stacked with resinous trichomes , and rock solid beautiful buds . Conversely it grows completely different outdoors - the purple is insanely dark . I love the terpenes of outdoor weed and can’t wait to compare full organic out with synthetic hydro grown of the same exact clones !!

Well we’re definitely close to the finish line . Loving the bright orange and purple colors . Super super dense flower , fruit terps are overpowering the lemon I was experiencing early on in flower .

I inspected trichomes today , they’re mostly still clear , with some milky and next to no amber , my guess is 1-2 more weeks !

i seen you post these in the other thread and i was like that flower is amazing

Thank you . This is my first dwc grow , there’s absolutely room for improvement in little areas . My next run will be better for sure .

This is the same plant but outdoors . The purple is so dark it’s almost black - mega long colas , not sure how dense it’ll end up .

Checked buds tonight and hella amber everywhere . Crazy the difference a few days makes ! I filled them all up with extremely cold ice water , and after a day or two I’m gonna kill lights for 48-72 hours . Idk if it works or not , but I’m gonna try it to give that extra little nudge !

Stay tuned because this next cut I’m growing is absolutely 100% fire !

Chopped Sunday evening , I removed the large fan lesves , cut roots off and hung the plants in my tent , after removing the dwc system and cleaning the walls etc .

Most is still hanging snd drying but I struggle in the patience dept . Here’s a tester that had started to crisp this morning , I removed it and let it sit out all day , then put it on top of my dehumidifier with a glass jar overtop the buzz is very strong / narcotic couch lock/ night time smoke , and the flavor/terps are amazing . Sweet fruit - all the fruits mixed into one bud . It’s only gonna get better from here with drying and curing

Congrats on the grow!

Excellent results, especially for first time hydro and you made it through some brutal temps, too.

Final weight not tallied yet , but somewhere between 1-1.25 lbs . Light yield but absolutely amazing smoke !

Anyways , been working on tearing everything down , and disinfecting etc . Still have a few more things to do , but did some cable management and straightening up this time and everything looks much cleaner .

Next run will but two strains , 5 phenos of future #1 , and 2 phenos of cap junky ..

Here’s a pic of where I stand as of right now . Still have to hook Dehu , and intake fan up - but right now this will be sufficient especially to start veg . I plan to pull fresh air from outside this next run - through a carbon filter to eliminate all smells associated with the air outside “lately that smell is wood fire “wildfires in Ontario”

I’m wrapping my buckets in reflective duct tape - to see if that helps with reservoir temps , and ordering some southern AG , even though I had zero issues with root slime etc . I never used hydrogusrd , shock etc - and my roots were flawless .

I’m also contemplating a grow with organics in dwc “I know , everyone says it’s a bad idea “ but I believe if you stay on top of the reservoir changes “every 2-3 days “ , and keep temps low , I think it could be done !

Yeh, you're getting hammered by that, eh?

I had chatGPT run some numbers and it fell into the "measurable but insignificant" category, even with the big "bucket" that I have (39" x 14" x 20" that holds 28 gallons of nutes).

Re Southern AG — I switched to that from Hydroguard. I hear you with the "Even though", especially since I run a chiller (68°) but I see it was a cheap way to be absolutely sure that there won't be any issues. One item - I swap my res every few weeks but my AI bot friend has advised me to add the bennies weekly.

"Here, hold my beer!" :-)

Do you really want to futz with all of those buckets every 2-3 days?

I usually do a minimal, convective air circulation in veg. Just a fan there, and not always even that. Not the fastest vegging but suits my perpetual 2 month cycle with 2 plants in 90cm tent.

Some people use freeze blocks under the reservoir. I never use any cleaning agent/H2O2. In my veg they have a water cycle of 10 days, because of high water temp up to 24-25c. It also rises the EC noticeable while so warm.
Flowering tent water is only 20-22c so its cycle can be up to 2-3 weeks depending on the plant behaviour.

Organics indeed, usually a big nono. Though one could do aquaponic system without the fish, but it's a meticulous balancing beforehand, and risks like cyanobacteria are BIG, no matter how much changing the reservoir. My friend made it through a couple times, but I never asked about the details. Organics, in bubbler, I only have Fulvic acid, and only use it with Terra Aquatica Tripart.

I really don't see organic hydroponics reasonable if you won't have a pond of your own. The result isn't that special considering all the hassle and risk IMHO.

Rather check some semi- organic hybrid line nutrients like Remo. It has chelates and salts, but it uses kelp extract, aminos and carbs for example. Not the best for dwc, requires some maintenance, water cycles are 6-9 days. I used it for 2 years. Considering pricing, Tripart is about 50€/L whereas Remo with its 7 bottles is around 160€L and creates more waste water.

Also aeration becomes more important the more organics in. 200L/h per plant is a minimun I'd say. A good quality flat air stone with smaller bubbles is a must.

Honestly , I was topping off every 2-3 days and cleaning every 5-7 as it was . I don’t mind the extra work lol
