Random Jabber Jibber thread

Appears to making a comeback but it looks like it's up to the individual state and/or school district. I would think keyboarding skills would be a requirement too?

"resurgence is driven by renewed interest in its cognitive benefits, such as improved language and memory skills, and the practical need for reading cursive to understand historical documents and personal communication. Common Core (2010) The Common Core standards didn’t include cursive in the recommended curriculum, and instruction on this form of penmanship largely waned.".

Covid threw a keyboard into it very early for my daughter. 1st grade.
ABC's no problem......qwerty.....holy crap was it a big wrench in the gears.

This is a pretty cool site to at least sign up for the newsletter. If you scroll down to the article about the hotel room shrinkage, read about the paywall note. They occasionally do this: a 3 day "all access' pass to both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.

Moderation/Uber Bro...
Man am I tired. Literally zero sleep. I sware, my daughter and husband are a bad influence on me lol. My ex wife watched the girls so was very fun.
I am no longer mad at Reno. We’re even. I fucking kicked that casinos ass! Over at GSR. We didn’t leave the resort. My problem was with the old Comstock that doesn’t even exist anymore. But i sware to god, when I got hauled away from there 30 yrs ago, in a paddy wagon with a roller skater that Terry from Reno 911 must have been based on, I swore I would never be back. Oh well. Btw I think that Nick Swardsons Terry character was cool AF.

Remember when EVERY school classroom had that big analog clock at the front of the room usually behind teacher's desk? The one you looked at every 3 minutes waiting, hoping, praying (whoops my bad) for the bell to ring?... What's next, they won't be able to write in cursive..oh wait a minute..
FWIW, I still have to have a analog wristwatch, and have analog clocks around the house. It justs computes faster with me if that makes sense. If I see a time digitally, my mind switches that image to analog, crazy, huh?

I have one in my bedroom so when I wake up in a daze I can half eye peek at it instead of locating my phone. Also I can read cursive but if you asked me to write anything besides my name I don’t think I could.

I rent now but it looks like this happens so. I would have thought using title insurance and a reputable title company, agent when you purchase the property would/could prevent this but that must not be enough anymore :(

"Home title protection: Criminals file fake deeds and transfer homeownership without you even knowing it. NordProtect monitors your property records, alerts you if anything changes and helps fix it before it snowballs."

If I may as a parent who has a child in elementary school who has lived in like a billion different states
every classroom we have had the clock has been there .
and he's been taught cursive at every single school
that's 4 different school districts in several different states.

the media is down right fucking lying about school education and what it is not doing or taking away, and it genuinely is angering.

they also learn NUMEROUS skills we never did , they have a packed school schedule , so not only are these kids learning things that are absolutely not much around anymore, sorry but no one uses cursive except us guys, and digital clocks are the way of the world mostly, they are also learning everything else that's "new" on top of that, their math is considerably harder than ours was, their English etc. they have to learn pc skills, Spanish, cursive, etc.

they are expected to preform and do much more studying than we did at their age level.

We need to focus less on "scare tactic" head lines and see what elementary kids are expected to learn and actually do in todays world youd have a less angry expression about it

I have someone coming over to give me an estimate on fixing my sprinkler pipe. I guess it got cracked when the fence was being worked on and the sprinkler got covered with dirt, then stepped on. I don't remember if that is the last one on that line or not. If I got on the ground to fix it I'm not sure I could stand back up.

My guy is in my phone as "Derrick the Sprinkler Dude".

Just had a H/W heater replaced yesterday.
Now I have a "Plumber Dude" in there too.
