CSI humboldt thread

For real? I didn't notice this.

For me, I haven't been interested in many of his newest offerings because he's doing what everyone else does, select female, hit with pollen from every male you got, release F1s of 10; different crosses at once. Rinse and repeat.

Wheres the actual breeding? Where's the worked/stable lines taken to F3 or further?

CSI was one of my favorite breeders to buy from, but I've lost a lot of respect I had for him because of interviews where maybe he trashes a strain I like or praises some stuff I don't like at all .....which is fine, but I start to realize he doesn't have the respect for older strains and breeders that I thought he did have.

And some of the ppl he works with are questionable as well.

Idk how many times I'll be amped for a Cherry Pie, GDP, Urkle, Bubblegum cross lol but I've pretty much exhausted my Internet in those strains tbh

Idk I wanna see NEW stuff, like take that library of strains make some phenomenal crosses and BUILD on them, which I feel he doesn't do.
I think he does bigger numbers than most, which is where he finds special plants. He does some crosses, but mainly started out just s1 of strains. I too don’t like his payment plan, don’t like the freebies, don’t like some of his projects, but if I want good ChemD s1s, etc it’s where I look first. As per his company, all the canna OGs have kinda disappointed me in their choices, jmho

To each their own but I love the freebies, it gives me a chance to sample and try strains I might not have otherwise. He does need to get with the times and update the payment method and work on his website. I hardly ever buy seeds anymore, but his pricing is steep

This part.
I mean I’ve been in the game for a long time and part of it always dealing with this part. I think what CSI does is quality as far as bringing stuff you might not ever get to run even if just F1s or crosses of them. I’ve always gotten killer stuff out of his packs and highly regard
You get your money's worth with Caleb.
Agreed and theres no bait and switch, yeah the lines aren’t worked and it’s known if you go this route, complaining about it is weird to me. I’ll still spend my money with him if popping seeds, my 2 on this

It isn’t the cheapest but you’re really getting what you think you are, theres value in that alone imo

i know theres a lot of loyal CSI growers but he needs to get with the times period.
Also, you guys realize he tosses all those extra packs in because of the germ rates? i believe its the squared ends are questionable freebies and rounded ends are actual good stock or visa versa

i like csi, that being said its hard for me to justify 100 usd for a pack of seeds let alone 200+ on some of the seeds i see come out

Yeah kinda strange people complain about prices but are also mad they get free seeds of dope crosses with the same plant… I bought uk cheese s1s snd got a pack of chem d x uk cheese, popped 3 of those and got the best plant I’ve grown in 5 years..

why is it strange people complain about prices tho? lets say someone is growing their own weed for cancer, they find a strain that is killer but seeds are 400+ which happens way more than it should, most people fighting a serious illness can't afford that price for seeds. so it becomes price over medical want, which imo is 90% of the cana industry.

As a NJ medical card holder, I can tell you NJ is 100% about profits and 0% for the patients....one of many reasons they don't allow homegrow here.....other reason being they know ppl will realize the weed they've been selling here is absolutely trash

the medical is the same in cali, its dogshit, the medical weed section of the usa is a huge shame imo, from the card to the doctor rec to everything

We are "eastern California" lol we copy nearly everything you guys do eventually....right now when you have a kid in NJ you fill out a form asking what gender your baby identifies with for Christ sake lol

I can see both sides when it comes to CSI and seed prices. Seed prices are too high for the most part. But, CSI gives away a ton of freebies which could be argued makes CSI's prices per seed far lower than most. I made an order this spring from CSI and got probably three times as many seeds as what I had ordered.

Among other things I ordered a 21 seed pack of Deep Chunk for $150 and they threw in another 21 seed pack for free. That's great that means I paid $3.57 per seed! On the other hand I don't know if I like that strain yet. I would have prefered to have payed $75 for one pack of 21 seeds.

The freebies are fun, but I'm very intentional in my seed ordering I research everything I buy for a long time before I buy. I'm looking for something very specific. It would be far better, for me, if they simply sold each individual seed pack for less money and didn't give away freebies at all. I have a whole box of freebies that I've gotten over the years that I will probably never grow, it's a shame.
