How am I doing?

Unless 416 is cali I doubt it...

Yeah, I bet your sprouts will outgrow the hurt babies.

Yeah, Big Bloom is the base nutrient, it has tons of good shit in it... Literally, guanos...

Superthrive is nothing to really shout about, I don't really think it makes that big a differance, but it's cheap and lasts forever for just a little bottle.

Oh, and no, Thundercat, I got my TDS and pH from the hydro store.

The BluLab trimeter didn't last me but 3 years until the probes needed replacement. It's supposedly the best, for 300 bucks, but the replacement probes are 100 each...

I currently use the Eutech Pro ppm3, and the Eutech Pro pH...

I want to get the Bluelab Truncheon ph, and TDS meters, they're fucking sweet.

The problem with my pens is the display, it's a little calculator screen on the pen, whish is harsd to read, when you're dipping it into a resevoir.

The Bluelab truncheon has LED lights that light up on a scale for the display.

Plus my Eutechs are probably 8 inches long, the truncheons are like a 2 foot billy-club.

Eutech meters are around 100 bucks each, the truncheons are 130.

Sweet. Should I be adding big bloom from sprout? Thanks

Wait until the 4-5th node, when there are 5 finger leaves then begin light feeding.

Yeah, Big Bloom is used throughout the entire growing cycle.

Looks to me like you have not been letting your water breathe for 48 hours before use, possible ph issues as well.
The plants leaves appear to be drooping like that due to a lack of oxygen in the soil possibly from over watering but also probably from using bad water with to much chlorine in it.

The chlorine in your tap water will destroy all of the little fine hairlike miniature roots and seriously reduce their ability to draw oxygen and moisture and it can also lead to brittle plants that don't grow well.
Chlorine = bad:evil:
Also is your room getting to cold during your lights off period?:joint:

Alright, thanks. I just checked up on my plants and I think my problem might be low humidity. I put one of my sick seedlings in a humidity dome with the seedlings that have just sprouted and it actually has grown faster than other plants in the tent. Do you think it would be wise to put all the plants in the dome?

It is possible that chlorine is the issue as well. I'll try distilled water for a bit see if that makes a difference. Maybe my water filter isn't as beneficial as I thought too?

I don't think the temp gets too cold during the night because the temp in my basement stays steady day and night. I think the purple is in the genetics:S

If your using filtered water then you must readjust your ph as water filters make the water the wrong ph and this could also be of issue for you if you have been using a home carbon based water filter.
Also chlorine takes at least 48 hours to be completely gone and you need to leave the water container open topped so that it can evaporate and breathe,no water filter can properly remove chlorine except osmosis systems.
Leaving water out to evap the chlorine also helps the water to hold a lot more oxygen than if you just poured it on.
Breathing your water before use really helps a lot, more oxygen,no chlorine, bigger buds.
Always check the ph before use.
Best of luck:weed:

Thanks bro. I'm getting an electronic ph meter sometime today so I'll be able to tell the ph more accurately. If the filter actually does screw the ph up, should I just use good old tap water or adjust the ph after I filter the water.
Thanks

If you love in a bad water area,i.e. if you wouldn't drink it straight from the tap yourself then don't pour it on your plants.
Theres nothing wrong with using a water filter but you still have to leave it to breathe afterwards for at least 24 hours and i am pretty sure all though i cant remember 100% that water filters seriously lower your ph to a level that is no good for weed.
I use tap water and i just leave mine for 48 hours before use,my liquid nutes automatically, near enough anyway, adjust my ph to the proper levels without using a water filter.
If you use a water filter and then add the nutes to the water and then check its ph levels after all that and see what it says:weed:

Just got back from the hydro shop. With the big bloom do you still start with 1/4 strength and work up?
I dont... This last time all i gave as far as nutrients was big bud cha ching overdrive and beast blooms....lol.... a little mix of this and that... I do like the chaching... that really got the buds frosting...

its all in the finall PPM that you end up with after mixing all your shit... i hope you have a good ppm pen

I got the Hanna digital combo pen. Model #98129. It has pH, TDS, EC, and Temp. If I'm not mistaken, there is a way to convert EC to ppm correct? Thanks

yup yup.. I have the same one hi-98129 .... good choice... way to spend the extra 50 bucks eh?... lol... So anyway man... you dont need to convert anything... most nutrients post the ppm lvl on the tag and our tester can check all 3 things... just push on the set/mode to toggle through the readings.

Sweet. Do you store the pen in the electrode storage solution?

I never bought more..... I have the calibration liquids.. and i calibrate once a grow...
IT is best to use it if you have it ... i just try to use it often to keep it somewhat wet... I havent had any problems with it.... well I did drop it once and the damn thing woudnt turn on.... I had to open the battery cover to find that the 4 little batteries had come out of the slot... but other than that no problems...

Alright so what do you think about putting the plants in the humidity dome? I think my exhaust is too strong to keep a good humidity level in the tent without the dome.
Thanks

if you can make a humidity dome that keeps it at that low of humidity then sure... (making more holes will create less humidity) Try putting water in the room... a bucket of water or tall cup... or just get a humidifier.

what ranges are you at? and how old of plants are you talking about?

I'm talking about the plants in this thread. ~a month old. I'm experimenting right now. I have 2 seedlings out of the dome, 1 in and 2 plants in the humidity dome under the 600 and 2 out of the dome under the same light. I have a feeling these seedlings will quickly out grow my current plants in veg.:hump:

and so?... do you see improvement on the ones with a humidity dome over not?... humidity domes usually keep it very high no?

So far it looks like the ones in the dome are doing better than the ones which are not. I'm going to keep it the way it is to compare which way is better. How much should I feed my seedlings with big bloom?
