ive seen something very similar before for sale, you have to buy all the moniters to hook up to a pc, and it will log everything in for you. you can also hook it up to a modem and have it ring you when something has gone wrong, ie: a triggered motion sensor, water sensor on the floor, ph level.
its sounds great, but expensive
I agree, it may be expensive. I have no idea what all the sensors would cost. They offer a kit for like $55 and up to like $70, but I don't know what it all does. I am not a computer guy, I can barely drive one, haha, but when you consider how much many people have invested in their grow op, it might not be a bad investment. I am sure you will need more then that $55 kit to make it all work, but maybe it is not all that expensive when you see the cost of some of the controllers on the market that cost well over a grand, this one may not be all that bad. I think the software is like $150 and the kit another $75 (we will go with the expensive one in this case) so far that is $225. If it lets me know my pumps have shut down, how much would that have saved me? If you have a LB in each grow and loose it, you lost a lot of time and what, $3000 or more in lost pot?
I would like to hear more on costs if anyone can figure out what all would be needed in addition to the software. I would think your monitor would be your computer monitor as the software shows the monitors on your laptop or desktop. It looks cool and is fun to play with setting up different times and watching stuff go on and off, even if it isn't really doing anything but flashing lights. When you get stoned, all those pretty lights are fun, but they look like an answer to a problem with pump timers, light timers, CO2 and yes, water spills, leaks, temp out of range etc. It looks like it is all there and in one place.
I know you would need to have your CO2 controller to hook up to your tank, your tester for ppm of co2 and nutrients and such so you would not avoid purchasing the hardware, this only controls it.
