on the down stem pretty much the same thing i guess it just how i was taughtand it was a (phx) like that too

Yeah I have heard them called both, would have to ask an expert the "correct" term. I saw one at the head shop it was three feet tall and had I think six plus all the works with the bowl (ash catcher ect) very cool piece it was over $600 though.

i'm cranky, one of my pieces checked. big crack right thru the bowl. i just had to keep opening the kiln door. the other 2 turned out really nice. i'm diggin' the red one.

Ok its called frit,its ground up colored glass or even clear too it is used to make solid colors and you do it by heating it iinto your peice from the inside...But anyways, so fdd have you got any new pipes for us today

my pm box is open. my pipes are "hardened" now.
i don't do "custom stuff" yet because i suck, but i have a drawer full of "extras".





to add color you use "color rod". basically you warm it up and draw it on like crayon. frit it used but only here and there. most color, in pipe making, is applied with rod.
