Okay, I have read so much that I have ended up confusing myself on intake/exhaust. So I'll just list what I think is the right way to go, and I would love any feedback that may help either get me on the right track, or tell me I am on the right track.
Box 2x3x4 (2, one veg one flower)
250w hps in flower box
Floros in veg box
4'' inline fan 170cfm with 18'' carbon scrubber inside box and approx. 6 feet smooth ducting for exhaust, fan pulls air through scrubber, not attached to a cool tube, just sucking air off the top of the box. Ducting will have one (1) 90 degree turn, and one (1) 45 degree turn.
passive intake with 3 feet smooth ducting bringing in room temperature air (70F)
some type of homemade hepa filter on intake, intake ducting is a single 6''. Ducting will have one (1) 90 degree turn.
Smell has to be virtually zero, like to be able to vent the exhaust into another room as to not interfere with the stable 70F air in the room that the intake is coming from.
So guess need to know if activated carbon filter can handle the smell, if intake size is going to be sufficient to keep all the air from these sealed boxes from going anywhere but through the carbon scrubber first, and if with a 70F intake temp, if with 170cfm inline fan pulling air through the scrubber, if the intake temps are going to be okay at keeping the temps okay. Intake temps can easily be changed with climate control if needed to compensate for grow box temps, same with humidity and whatnot.
Also, if need be, additional ducting can be added to the already 6 feet of exhaust ducting, bringing the total exhaust ducting to approx 10feet, and allow the exhaust to be ducted into the ceiling, no crawl space up there, just a about a 1.5 foot air space that has insulation in it, and then the flat roof above it. So no real attic, just an airspace with insulation, but wanted to point out that it was an option as well.
Again, NO SMELL, that is most important. So if a bigger filter would be needed, that would be great to know!!! Or another method would help on top of it, that would be another great thing to know.
