HLP! worried about power consumption!

I am a bit concerned about my power consumption, (the meter going crazy), so I am thinking maybe a generator I see 3500 wat on E-bay 4 like 400 bucks (but how would it be timed to turn on the lights when needed) It would be a pain to do it manually every 12 hours, really impossible cause of work and all... Hmmmm...............
So for all yas who got your crap together plz hlp me, would a genny be a good idea? how do i set it up if so? If not en other alternatives ( and no I wont steal electricity) so other than that?

If you have concern about hydro, do you not think the noise generated from ths would be a little more suspicious? They are LOUD, especially the cheap ones on ebay. You can get a much better one that can be plugged in and batery started automatically, but you are going to be looking at the thousands, not hundreds of dollars....

not worried there, electricity is what worries me its the single biggest "outside factor" everything else is stealthy.

p.s Im only running 1 1k hps and 1 400 mh now, and the meter goes wild

if you have a generator running everyday is doesn't matter if everything else is stealthy is going to draw lot of attention. Not to mention the money its going to keep that going....gas isn't cheap. Honestly the whole thing...its probably going to be easier to pay the bill. hopefully its still cheaper than buying your product and be happy for that.

doode i run a 1000w hps pluss my ac tht cools the room fans i have going qand then theres my house two other bedrooms fridge dishwasher and i havnt had any wotries although my bill has deffintly increas like 150 200 dollars a month and im on my second month no worries you can get away with 1000 w per bedroo

yeah just as long as it doesnt spike a huge amount over a short time my buddy runs 3-1000's plus all the other junk in his house and its been like 8 years now without a problem

if i heard a generator going when the power is restored would raise a ton of questions and complaints from neighbors hell our genny kicks on when power goes out and our neighbors hate us for it, 2 reasons one for having lights and the other for the noise it makes

i wonder if it would be possable to make some sort of sound proofing box with an air intake and exhuast obviously it wouldnt be worth doin for that small but if someone wanted to go larger in a rual location
