400w grolux and diamond reflector, guys do you reckon i should move the light up and try to stretch these out a bit?..theyre getting mighty bushy, canopy widths are around 20inches...you cant really tell in the pics how big they actually are

ok guys, the girls are due a feed tonight just before lights out and im thinking to add half strength nutes, this will comprise of root complex(ec+ph neutral) ,supervit, powerzyme(ec plant suppliment NPK 0-0-0) and TNT complex(NPK 6+4+2)...what do you guys think?...tnx

i'm not sure since your doing soil but i would have been on full strength from about 6" tall.

I wouldn't get caught up in comparing your plants to other grows. Just focus on what YOUR plants are telling you. If they look hungry, feed. If they look fine, don't force it on them. All strains grow differently so to say they all must be given nutes at a certain point is not always correct. Unless you have dark purple stems and leaves rapidly fading in color I would start out very light on nutes. Just to give you an idea, my veg formula calls for 7 mL/gal and I start at 1 mL/gal. I would do 1/4 strength at most for first feeding.

for sure. wasn't trying to tell him to go full strength. you gotta work out whats best for you and starting small is the key with nutes.

I wouldnt bother trying to strech them either, switching the lights will do that for ya in 12/12, my plants genraly double in hight wen they go into 12/12.

i must admit i`d prefer my plants to be bushier like yours but i will see what my new clones do under the 150w hps as the ones i have in flower now were veg`d under floras so they wer grown under different circumstances/lighting so cant really compare yet

but they look mighty fine to me

Q. have u checked the roots in the bottom of the pots are they healthy ? or slow growth

Guys as ever your comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated....Shit i'm stuck with what to do now.On the 1 hand looking at them they really dont need it..they are over 1 ft high and are a dark healthy green apart from the water splashes which have become more apparent..On the the other hand i feel like im gunna miss out on something coz virtually EVERYBODY else uses nutes after 2 weeks...Hmmmm lemmi check something....

Ok ive just checked something and im puzzled as hell, last night i didnt feed them coz i wanted some feedback from you guys. What i did do was make a feed with the nutes to be left out overnight and i did the same with normal tap water.I've just checked the PH of both of these and the nute water is at 6.4 whilst the tap water is at a standard 7..how could that be?...im not trying to find a way to use nutes...i really would prefer to do without them.

its quite common for nutes to bring th ph down thats why u shouldnt add ph down first b4 the nutes

Yea man, most nutes will bring down ph. That's why it's important to test your feed water AFTER you have added everything you are going to add to it. I'm like mr west. My plants barely get a chance to taste any veg nutes before it's time for flower. You're not missing out on anything. A plant in flower is truly a whole different animal than one in veg. Its nutrient needs change completely. As long as you have healthy green leaves as you switch into 12/12 it means the plant has enough stored nitrogen to last it through flower. Heck, I've even put nitrogen deficient plants into flower which is supposed to be a no-no because bloom nutes have very little nitrogen and it is claimed to be hard to green them back up. What do you know they did green back up immediately and I had found out for myself that another thing I heard on the forums was a myth. (You have to watch out for those.) People who try to take their plants "to the max" in veg don't get very far. Flower is the time to be pushing the limits.

So when are you gonna flower? It can vary A LOT by strain so it's hard to know how much stretch you will run into exactly. I have strains that less than double in height and other strains that exceed 4x in height and everything in between. So I guess what I'm wondering is what is the distance between the bulb and the top of the soil? You could flower today and end up with 4+ footers. You never know. I had a Super Skunk surprise me recently. Should be called Super Stretch LOL.

well they at 2ft now including including pots..the pots have fucked me up tbh but its a lesson learned :).the smallest plant is 12inches and the tallest is 14inches..just measured them.i have 6ft to play with but i gotta consider my light and clearance(at least 2ft) from the plants...looking at it if they treble in size i should be turning them now but i dunno, any experience with white widow mared?...i also believe that the conditions are right for them as they are growing well so i expect them to balloon once i flower them.Oh another thing happened since i fed them last night with half strength nutes(which i think is a bad idea now!)...my humidity for the first time gone over 40..its been a steady 73-76 for the last 12hrs...any reason for this or is it just coz the plants are getting bigger?....Once again tnx all
