The Official every other type of racing is better than NASCAR 2009 thread

Haha, they only switched to unleaded three years ago I think. Welcome to the 20th century. (and yes I know it's the 21st century, i'm commenting on nascar's progress)

The aussie gran prix was great. I don't really like the look of the car, but love the fact that they can actually close up on each other.

That brawn car is awesome. How much of a stud is Ross brawn. Jensen gets some credit too. He checked out from the field more than the schumi used to. And the thing I thought was really amazing was that Rubens lost his diffuser at the first crash, so you can't just chalk their performance to the diffuser.

I know we didn't see what happened, but I think Jarno got screwed. How crazy was it that (pre penalty) Jarno raced from 20th to 3rd and Hamilton raced from 18th to 4th.

Bruemi did good for Toro Rosso. I don't like them, but good for them anyways.

The tifosi must be shattered.

I think Nascar fans don't watch any other forms of racing, or they wouldn't be such die hard nascar fans. So it's sort of impossible for them to start 'hate' threads as you like to put it. They aren't aware there is anything else to 'hate'.

And does it make it better for you to agree with the op because you didn't promote another sport. undirected 'hate' is cool as long as there is no ulterior motives? Oh, sorry you were promoting chess.

I'm sure you would never say you were accusing me of 'hating' nascar, but I in fact love the sport. You should see my room. I truly love nascar. That's why I can't stand the commentating and lack of technology so much.

What kind of racing do you like?
why so defensive? did i quote you?

Well... there were only two people who said anything about another sport when you wrote about mocking, me and mcgician. So I guess you were speaking only to him (???) when you say

pretty funny you all have to mock one sport in order to promote your own.

Or did you mean both of us? I would read into "you all" more than one person so that would be me and mgician.

That's why defensive.

"crowd" here who likes to dis nascar. if they aren't here now, they will be soon. i was speaking to/about the whole world. oh, never mind. :blsmoke::eyesmoke:

That is awesome. When I was a kid I always dreamed about flying, I guess all those guys did too. Sweet for them they get too.

i bet your one of those that only watches to see if they crash.
I know you weren't talking to me, but I fully admit to NOT watching, as well as admit that my amusement level only slightly rises when I see that happen on the Speed Report. Something wrong with that? Lol. Sorry, but I can think of too many other excuses to drink beer with my buddies than be stuck tortured watching rolling billboards circle around for 3 hours. If they did more road courses, it'd undoubtedly be a lot more interesting, but oval racing in general is a bore, and more a convenient spectator layout than anything else. If that's your thing though, more power to you.

i don't drink beer. =/
Wine?

That's something I'm actually formally trained in. The similarities between cultivating grapes/making wine are incredibly similar in a lot of ways to growing MJ. Let me know if you ever have any questions.

Looks like they source all their fruit from other growers. Do they grow any of their own grapes though? Typically, wineries that outsource most of their fruit tend to be pretty big operations, and tend to be less expensive. If you're not a drinker, none of this makes any difference, but the job must've been a relatively big one.
spent 6 months out of town.

they have there own vineyards up north near santa barbra. we did some work in santa maria as well. lots of work in Napa and here in sonoma.

grapes and pot are VERY much alike. sugar levels and trich ripeness are pretty the same thing. i have watched wine makers the final weeks before harvest. they are just like us at harvest time. got their little scopes and testers out. checking this and watching that. waiting for the peak ripeness. thinking the one is always better than the other. blah, blah, bla. :-P

if pot becomes legal it will be a very easy cross-over. a lot of the same farming techiniques. same season. all kinds of comparatives. :weed:

Moto GP and Formula One rule the roost as far as Im concerned, anyone catch the Australian Grand Prix ? What a performance from Jenson Button and the Brawn car!
yep i did. it was a great race! congrats to brawn racing. fair play to some of the other drivers as well, lewis hamilton who was 18th, ended up 3rd. trulie (sp?) for Toyota ended up 4th from starting the race in the pits!
