First Time Growing, My set up w/ pics

I have been reading up a bit and decided to try out some growing in an attic space.

I have 10 seed starting fiber pots that I put my seedlings in. I germinated them until just the white tip poked out.

Soil:
The soil I am currently using is miracle grow potting soil, mixed with miracle grow perilite.

Lighting:
I am using a two tube 48" fluorescent work light that is dangling from the ceiling.

Grow Room:
I have this set up in an attic space. It is actually very dusty in there and there's lots of old, something, like dusty cloth crap, I don't really know what it is, but it is all over.

Air Circulation:
I have a large fan in there that is pointed at a spot on the wall so it blows over the plants but not with a ton of force.

Other:
I also have a heating pad in there since right now where I live it gets close to freezing for another month, if it's too cold on a certain night I will turn it on low and place it underneath my plants, with plastic separating them.

I would like some feed back. A few questions I am wondering are:

Is that dusty cloth junk going to mess with my plants due to it being dusty?

Will the miracle grow perilite combo make my plants grow fast?

Will my plants survive in a dry attic and with only the fluorescent light throughout the entire process?

Any feedback is welcome. I am on a very tight budget so I spent as little as possible to get this thing underway.

Ignore big pots, gonna scratch em, failed attempts with plain ol' topsoil ><

Here's the dusty crap I was talking about... it's like the insides of an old stuffed animal covered in dust, how bad is it?

It will work, but you will be disappointed with the yield.

You will for sure get plant problems if your area is not sanitized. That insulation will most likely get moldy too if not covered with some drywall or something.

Use HPS light and you will get a way better yield, or you can use a bunch of cfl's.

It's a very dry attic and any moisture is quickly taken away cause it gets pretty hot in the summer. Think that will help ward off any mold? Also I was thinking about either covering the walls with something thin and easy to put up, or maybe even bringing in a box that can go around the plants in there. What do you think?

Let's just say I'm pretty far north haha. But yea, it's been getting close to freezing about every three days still. I had to heat them last night but I just started the new ones with the good soil today so I'm going to see how it plays out for now. Any quick easy hints anyone can give to improve this cheaply would be awesome. And also, I will post more pics up after about a week.

I would like to do that but I really have barely any money to put into this and I found that light in the garage What kind of yield do you think I will be looking at if I start flowering these guys at about 10 inches? I don't plan on feeding them with more nutes either, can't afford it. That's what I'm hoping the miracle gro will fix. Damn money

Well you need moisture for your plants to grow healthy, you just need to do some easy research to see exactly what kind of environment your plant needs.

Well basically this is just the cheap ass worst condition grow attempt as I am in the works of making a stealth box. My box is going to be very sophisticated and I have bought almost everything except lights cause I haven't decided what to use yet. That's where my money went. I just basically want to see what happens when I grow em in a "not very good" environment, and improve everything with my box.

but im not freezing anymore..thank god..and ya ur setup is excatly what kinda plants youll get...cheap ass yeild..
your lights could work..if you have a warm&cool bulb..and your lights where in a box of any kind...something to hold the light/heat in....u got some nails and some blankets..make a fuckin tent dude..bring the kid out in yourself...a boxes are free from grocery store....usually...u have tin foil? car window shade? xmas wrapping paper? a solid white shower cutain? they all reflect light..white is the best..tin foil..u shouldnt really use it..its not the best..most will say not to use it.but if its all you got...it will be like a easy bake oven..that may create hotspots...ur call..
the dust..i would def cover up...with a dry attic..ull have a problem with dust mites..

you really shouldn't use miracle grow to grow any type of smokeable flowers. the reason why, right out of the bag, Miracle grow contains many types of nutrients. after germanation the seed thats in the miracle grow will absorb too much of the nutrients. sure things might look good for a week or three, but after that; the little six inch stem thats sticking out will topple over. use mountian soil. any mountian will do, just go 2-5 miles deep into any mountian range and pick up 25-50 lbs of that soil.

Thanks for all the tips dude, yea I'll have to get some cardboard boxes that are large and stick em up or something. But yea to heat them up when it's colder I just put plastic under them, then a heating pad under that, and turned it on low, it turns off on it's own so when it starts warming up in the morning it shuts off, it's actually really nice

Ahh crap well I tried plain ol top soil and that failed, cause they just stopped growing so I figured id try something with more nutes and stuff. Would a walmart bought organic mix workout? Cause I dont have any mountians nearby >< maybe some large ass hills lol

The mountains of northern GA are comprised mostly of red clay and sand. come on kid. stay in your suburbiaville in cali. prob some punk from temecula who knows it all
