So my clones came in last night, looks like I'm going to be doing two journals, so you best keep track, Jack! Got a Purple Kush, White Widow, and Hindu Skunk plant.

I've put them into 3 gallon DWC buckets, under a 216w T5HO lamp for veg. Pic included shows from left to right PK, WW, HS. I'll start feeding them in a couple of days on 1/4 strength, then work my way up from there.

I went and snagged my 400w HPS out of storage. I still need to pull the rest of the half-melted transport/protection tape off but otherwise it's ready for operation.

Now I am ready. The clones have perked up since transplant, and I can't wait for the seedlings to catch up. I also just for shits and giggles picked up a jiffy pot of purple basil, so that might get talked about later in the garden section.

Okay, it's been day 6 since I got these clones and transplanted them. The white Widow and Purple Kush are hauling ass, so much that I was forced to start a light nutrient regimen because of the rate of root growth. The Hindu Skunk is still the runt of the entire bunch, and I haven't seen roots pop from the net pot YET but I'm sure in a few days they will show. It has definitely been the slowest one.

Current nute regimen: 1/2 tsp of floramicro and floragro per 3 gallon container at 2 1/2 gallons full.

Finally, a root showed thru the Hindu Skunk net pot. Now I know it has a decently established root system thru the hydroton, and by tomorrow I'll likely see more roots after the dark period. Oh, speaking of which, this is running 16/8. There's not much in the way of stretching. The T5HO does output nicely for the first three feet or so, but the main max penetration range is about fifteen inches, so I will likely veg to fifteen inches, then kick on the HPS.

I have plenty of time for growing now that I'm not bothering with the IRC chat. I won't step near that BS ever again while the Nazi is around.

And time for a quick update. I didn't pay attention yesterday while doing pH adjustments, and a tiny bit of acid must've spewed from my pipette and hit a leaf, as a leaf was looking heavily chemically burned and had just gone totally limp.

Things continue to go smoothly, minus the leaf burn from some errant nutes or pH chemical. The three girls are happy as can be. Temps climb into near 90s but thanks to the cool DWC roots the plant handles it without any problems and even seems to thrive. This picture taken about two minutes ago has the temp at 85.2F

Almost through with week two, and already pre-flowers have begun to make themselves visible on all three plants. The Purple Kush by far is the fastest and strongest grower, then the White Widow, then Hindu Skunk. They are all doing quite well, with good root systems for plants their size.

They've already begun showing preflowers. Each plant is just under a foot tall, half a foot shy of the maximum effective range of my T5HO array. What I'll do next is realign the T5HO arrays, I'll leave them horizontally oriented but rotated 90 degrees so I can put an array on each side of the plants, then pop my HPS over the top to shine down between the T5HO. Full light canopy, maximum light penetration, maximum light usage.

I just need to find appropriate mounts to hang the T5HO from the wall and sliding closet door to accomplish the lighting on both sides.Given that the closet itself is only about 18-24 inches deep, this should pretty much maximize the usefulness of the T5HO array.

Well, there's only three in this journal. I have two more in another journal, they're seedlings. Total will be 832w for 5 plants. 166.4w per plant once it's all said and done. Right now they're all just sitting under a single 216w T5HO using 6500K bulbs.

Okay, I've been meaning to update but boredom and a lack of desire has led to me being lazy.

All three clones are doing well, so well that I am almost tempted to make more buckets and just snip off some clones to prepare for the next round of growing.

I raised the buckets up a bit so more of the plant was in direct exposure to the T5HO, and I have repositioned the HPS to be a bit more effective in covering all of the plants. Almost done with week three, and almost ready to start flowering! I think week four will be time to flower.

Those two statements you quote compliment each other, believe it or not. See, the temptation to do such a thing is hindered by not having a spot or the tray needed for rooting clones. I have a box for cloning, but not the tray for rapid rooters. I also have no other available power outlets for operating the cloning box. My last apartment had more power outlets and a larger circuit breaker box thus I could cram in more equipment.

So your aversion to being around potheads in the real world is unfounded. Especially if you're using me as an example. Floyd might be a better example to use.
