I only hang for a day (6am till 6am literally 24 hrs) to keep the buds moist to the touch no crunchy dry feeling. i compared this to more standard drying and varied the days from 1 day till 17 days (i dried 6g for a day then cure 6g for 2 days an so on all the buds were from the same plant and when it was done i compared and i like the moist feeling and the 1 day dry got me as high as the 10 dry but anything longer than that and the weed wasnt as good. also i am forced to dry outside (liv w/mom only 18 for 2 months) i dry in an old brick building no one nos about but me (found by chance and too a yr to find again) so i cant do anything about humidity unless if i stole elec. and im not going to jail again any time soon:roll:
I was going to ask it you dried outside:mrgreen: Well you seem to have tested and come up with what you like, cant argue with that.:weed:

Vacuum containers are fine for final storage but I would use something that can be opened several times a day for the first few weeks. The process of burping allows fresh air in which over time helps draw the moisture from the center of the buds and evenly distributes it.
Short answer....yes they still need to be burped.
Thanks dude.

Im sorry bout this but no one should listen to anyone who thinks 70% humidity is "low" unless you live in England (nothing against England, its just moist) and even then 70% is still too high to correctly dry out weed without mold growth.

bwahahahahhhahah hahahahahah total bullshit hahahhahaha ok ill turn this thread around for all you so that you can really have some nice herb. take all feeder leaves off hang dry with dehumidier for 4 days, then get yourself an old whisky oak barrel and put your buds in there open for 15 mins daily for week, then open daily for 5 mins for week then open weekly for 15 mins for a month then smoke the nicest fucking herb you have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Btw make sure you flush for minimum 10 days or else it will taste shitty.

A lot of people would disagree with you also, 4 days with a dehumidifier seems a little quick, and most people prefer curing in glass. But like i said before whatever works for you.:leaf:

freezer curing is the best way to cure your product. Takes potential flaws out of the process, for example over drying, mold, hay smelling bud, and is a lot more forgiving if you forget to open up the container for its airing out time.
I however let the buds dry in brown paper bags for a few days, the slower the cure and dry time the better the product.

Slow is good. Freezer while slow, IMO, frozen trichs break off. Unless you have lots of trees DO NOT USE A DEHUMIDIFIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless you enjoy the taste and smell of freshly cut lawn clippings. If you have above 60% humidity, add a small fan to circulate air, do not blow directly on plant...I point the little fan at the ceiling if needed.

Use the paper bag to slow down the dry about half way through. I do not trim/manicure until it hits glass (slower cure and protects buds, but more work to trim). Your bud will feel dry, and you will think you went to far...when you open the jar the next day, you will be happy.

I haven't done this yet but this is the method im going to try, its the way Jason Wilcox off of youtube does it. He drys till the nug is dry to touch but the stems still bends. Then puts them in jars and takes them out twelve hours later and spreads them on a screen(news paper) to dry for two to six hours then puts them back in for another twelve hours. I think he does his four times, but says it can be done a week to a month depending on your taste.
