97% of bank seeds are better than any bag seed out there.. you know with seed banks you are getting strong genetics and a good plant... of course there are always the ocassional fuck ups you get.. but your chances of that are pretty few and far between.. bag seed isnt bad.. dont get me wrong.. but you are taking a chance with every seed... whether its mae/female/hermie.. you dont know how strong the genetics are.. you can occasionally get a strong bag seed too.. but i would gladly take any bank seeds, as long as they are a reputible bank, over and bag seeds anyday of the week...

and yes it is illegal.. but some vendors still ship them anyways.. its almost impossible to get caught.. just use a prepaid credit card to make the purchase.. i would also recommend getting it shipped to another address of a PO box if you have one..

I like to grow bagseed, then regenerate the quality ones that grow well in my setup. These regenerated ones I then clone. Gather all the different seed you can and go on a 'mother hunt'.
You'll meet some real twats but, I've come accross some worthy stuff.

If it's your first grow, just use bagseed. I killed a lot of my plants early on and I'm glad I din't waste money on expensive seeds, just so I could kill them. I've got plenty of seedbank seeds now, but I'm still using seedbag seeds to experiment with different soil mixes, nutes, and growing techniques. I want to make sure I know the best ways to grow with what I have.

Lately, I've been practicing LST with a strongly sativa clone. If the original plant is female, I'll be keeping this one as a mother. Maybe once it get's a bit older, I'll top it in a couple places and see what sort of harvest I can get.

Low Stress Training... when you tie the plant down to allow lower branch nodes to get light and grow to the height of the top cola.. yielding many more cola's/tops... play around yourself to get a cool feel for it. It's not hard.. just take it easy... its called LOW stress training..

Bagseed: I have a bagseed chica on day 40 of flowering...she is beautiful...and tough as nails. I started flowering when she was a small but bushy 8"er. Now she is a bushy, beastly 24" tall and just covered with buds. I have her tied down hard to a 15 lb dumbell and I swear she's gonna lift it! lolz. BUT...the other side is this...I started with 5...two were sooooooooo weak they died the collapsing death as seedlings...one more was male...one more was a hermie...

So yes bagseed absolutely can produce winning plants...but it is a total and complete crapshoot. (which does make it kinda fun when you get a winner like I got)

Seedbank: I germed 5 ak48s...all 5 are strong, fast and healthy. One is lagging behind but is fine...(a lesson...don't kill the laggers...the bagseed chica that i described earlier was a lagger and she ended up being a "late bloomer") So less gamble with seedbank...more consistant results...I'll let you know the f/m/h ration in a about a month but I'm guessing it'll be superior to the ratio of 1/5 that I got w/bagseed

if you are experienced you should order quality genetics...there just to much time and money that is waisted hoping for a mystery bagseed to be dank bud, male, are more common a hermie...yes bags seed have a high chance of being hermie gentically because most schwag or whatever comes from stressed sativas that are put on the cutting line like in mexico or some shit like that...not saying that you cant achieve success with bagseed its just not worth the time and money to be hoping for something. if your order from a good seed company like serious seeds, greenhouse seeds or dutch passion you cant go wrong for the most part...they are highly respected seed banks with quality genetics. Order threw seedboutique.com and you cannot go wrong. And as long as you dont use your grow address and your not drolling over the mailbox you are good buddy. And remeber an old head grower always told me...you grow cheap and paranoid...you grow wrong...not to catchy but very real.

ok well is there any good way to tell if a seed is any good if i were to go with a bag seed, i know you don't want the white ones, but does size and coloration of the seed make any difference?
