I'm a big fan of some of the previously posted foods, barbecue ribs especially.

When I feel run-down or sick with a cold/congestion my roommates know that I'm cooking Indian food. I've made chicken mughlai, chicken tikka masala, kadhai paneer.

The most important thing I've learned is that when you're cooking with chili peppers, scratching your eye is NOT a good idea. Unless you like burning eyes. That wont stop watering. For hours.

Sorry, I was talking about the lamb racks. I usually keep a dozen of the Newburg in the freezer shipped direct from Maine, but I also make home made when I come across some plump lobsters. It's a snap to make.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked lobster meat, about 2 small lobsters
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • buttered toast or pastry shells
  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)

Preparation:

In a medium saucepan over low heat, heat lobster in the butter and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt, cayenne pepper, brandy and sherry. Mix beaten egg yolks with the half-and-half and add to lobster. Cook, stirring constantly, until lobster newburg is thickened and heated through, but do not bring to a boil. Serve lobster newburg over buttered toast or pastry shells. Lobster Newburg recipe serves 4.

here's the recipe I use, but I will also add some Brandy to it as well. 3 Tablespoons worth.

It consists of a tofu product. It may be an oxymoron but I'd rather eat the oxymoron then have something cramped up in my intestines for a week. To each their own. ;-)

There is not one single food that stays in you for a week unless you get severe constipation. Meat actually digests faster - the majority of your stool is undigestable PLANT FIBER. The entire act of digestion takes approximately 16-24 hours depending upon your body's metabolic rate. This is basic biology.
