your opinion....do cats feel love?

Well, since you asked, it's called the amygdala. It's buried deep behind the frontal lobe and it's about the size of a cherry. in a human brain, and virtually non-existent in most animals brains (Excluding the primate, of course.)
Didn't you go to school to learn this stuff?
+rep real info here.

love is based around conscious thinking and recognition of an individual outside yourself.

cats and dogs don't even recognize individuality.

it may be some sort of caring, but it's certainly not the same as /our/ definition of love.

it's simply impossible.
you all need to own a cat.

my cats can't tell each other apart? you all are trippin.

i'm sitting here with my LOVING cat. fuck you all. :fire: :bigjoint:

I've owned a cat, and I loved my cat.

but I can recognize the difference between dependance and appreciation and love.

animals are simply incapable of our definition of love, a commitment.

I mean, even if an animal expresses something like love on the outside, that does NOT mean in any way that it is actually love.

yeah, they also taught me Columbus was a hero. :-P

i don't need to be told what i feel. do you feel love from others? when someone loves you can't you feel it? how come i feel love FROM my cat. that puts it on me now. am i messed up or what? :bigjoint:

so my kitty is faking it? now they are capable of deception? they just keep getting smarter and smarter.

once again, define love. i think your definition may vary from mine.

a commitment? i have a commitment to my boss, but i certainly don't love him.

Well, can't argue with that point. But the difference between science and history is science can be proven.

You will feel whatever you want to feel from your cat. Stalkers feel that the people they stalk love them. Are they right?

I'm pretty sure I've given two different definitions of love in this thread, and made it pretty clear which one I was talkin about.

Its been proven that Domesticated Dogs (sorry I know this is about Cats) because they are now considered a sub species still maintain that pack mentality, so when you take a Dog as a companion, it forms sort of a "Pack" with you, it even significantly changes how a dog will perform during cognitive problem solving tasks, and when ur in danger he/she will risk life and limb to try and save you, if thats not some form of love I dont know what is, friendship is a form of love

Yeah, that generally happens when people run out of points for me to debunk. :(
none of them made a bit of difference to me. i got bored with it. you debunked nothing on my end. though i'm sure you think otherwise.

science has been know to be wrong. brains operate in waves. only a small portion of it is even understood. we really have no idea what the limit of ANY brain is. :blsmoke: :peace:

So, now we resort to the "noone understands it" scapegoat.
Believe me, I know when someone is too simple to see common sense, I figured that out whenever you asked a question, got the answer, and most likely feeling stupid you quickly changed the subject. I had no intention of changing your view. I don't care enough about you to want to. But chances are an actual thinker may of been reading this thread and learned something.
